See Our Signs at COS | When traveling for the holidays, you may have spotted our orange signs at the Colorado Springs Airport. This means that our team has been hard at work to make important improvements to this vital transportation hub. This multi-phased project includes a remodel of the entire concourse and a newly completed oversized baggage system. We would like to thank our incredible collaborative partners at RS&H and Senger Design Group. For the flier this holiday season, please pardon our dust, sit back and relax, as we take flight towards an updated Colorado Springs Airport! #COSAirport #AirportImprovements #HolidayTravel

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (Arizona, United States) is set for significant developments in 2025, building on a record-breaking 2024. Key projects include the construction of a new Terminal 3 north concourse with six gates, restaurants, shops, and a lounge offering airfield views, as well as a post-security pedestrian bridge connecting Terminals 3 and 4. Looking ahead, planning begins for the West Terminal, featuring 40-60 gates, with construction anticipated in the 2030s. The terminal is expected to cost around USD 4 billion and will support long-term growth. 📰 More details on this story in the next issue of the Momberger Airport Information newsletter. ➡️ Sign up for a free two-month trial here: https://lnkd.in/g8SjE2pp Please type "trial" in the user instructions window. #momberger #airports #airportdevelopment #airportoperations #infrastructure #airtransport #construction #usa #phx #globaleconomy #aviationindustry Image credit: PHX

This week's news (& vision) of a possible #birdstrike at Queenstown Airport (ZQN) has and should have people talking about #wildlifehazardmanagement at airports and in aviation generally. But I am concerned with some of the commentary that might suggest that the airport operator was not managing wildlife hazards effectively, sufficiently, or smartly. The first rule of aviation safety and the risk management approach more broadly is that the risk of events like bird and wildlife strikes cannot be reduced to zero. And therefore, the incidence of a single event cannot be used to assess the effectiveness of the risk management process. This incident is, of course, a great reminder of the persistent hazard that wildlife present. The dramatic visuals from inside and outside the aircraft, the experiences of the passengers and crew shared on social and mainstream media, and the reporting coming from media and industry professionals all provide those of us working in the industry with material to punctuate our own messages of constant vigilance, measurement and action. But rather than implying any deficit on the part of the #WHMP at the airport (yes, an airport I worked at and took part in their program), could we please stick to justifiable conclusions? https://lnkd.in/gwnnGvis
