This holiday season, the #PattulloBridgeReplacement Project team came together once again to collect toys for the SURREY CHRISTMAS BUREAU as part of their annual toy drive. We also raised money through the Greater Vancouver Food Bank virtual food drive to help provide healthy food to those in need this holiday season. Thank you to all of our team members who donated. We wish everyone a happy holidays!

This year, the #PattulloBridgeReplacement Project has once again set up a Virtual Food Drive through the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Any and all donations are welcome! Crews are working hard on the bridge deck! In Surrey, crews are in the process of pouring the concrete deck on top of pre-cast deck panels. This creates a smooth surface to complete the bridge deck structure before asphalt paving. #PattulloBridgeReplacement

Here’s a closer look at the inside of a stay cable anchored to the #PattulloBridgeReplacement bridge deck. Each cable is made up of 23-80 metal strands that are installed inside weather resistant HDPE (high-density polyethylene) tubing for protection.

Happy Flyover Friday! This flyover of the #PattulloBridgeReplacement starts in New Westminster, taking us overtop of the ongoing girder installation activities for the North Approach then across the Fraser River to the ongoing structural steel, deck panel, and cable stay installation activities at the bridge tower. From there, we continue overtop the South Approach in Surrey, taking a look at the ongoing construction of the westbound portion of the Highway 17/Old Yale Road overpass, then fly all the way back to New Westminster. Here’s a close-up of concrete deck panels installed to form part of the south approach bridge deck in Surrey. Soon, crews will install rebar and pour concrete on top of these panels to create a smooth surface before asphalt paving. #pattullobridgereplacement #accionateam #aeconproud

The video below highlights the ongoing construction for the North Approach and the collaborative efforts being undertaken by the Project teams to advance bridge construction in New Westminster. Construction of the bridge deck and new E. Columbia Street off-ramp in New Westminster involves a number of challenges that our Project teams collectively manage on a daily basis. These include working in a densely populated urban area with confined work-space, the presence of two major roadways used by local residents, commuters, and commercial vehicles, and there being two railways that are important routes for goods movement throughout the lower mainland and region as a whole. Fraser Crossing Partners is working collaboratively with Transportation Investment Corporation and other key stakeholders to obtain the necessary approvals and to implement the required road closures for advancing bridge construction in New Westminster, and we’re excited to be making significant progress! #PattulloBridgeReplacement #Teamwork #Collaboration #Accionateam #Aeconproud        

Last week, the Pattullo Bridge Replacement team hosted an information booth at the Downtown New Westminster Business Improvement Association's Fridays on Front event. It was great to connect with the community and chat with people from both sides of the Fraser River.
