#YoungPeopleAndSRHR How can SISA spaces help young people learn about gender and sexuality? Through our engagement with the cohort of TARSHI’s ABCs programme, we realised that young people had many questions and thoughts to share! Young people today find themselves in the middle of an overwhelming number of sources from which to consume information. Often, this can get confusing, tiring, and challenging. So, what’s the way out of this? Creating Safe, Inclusive and Self-Affirming (SISA) spaces for and with young people is important. At TARSHI, we believe that in SISA spaces, each one of us has the freedom to talk about sexuality-related concerns, as well as access to correct, unbiased information about these topics. Through our programme, we created a space for young people where there can be a mutual exchange of information and perspectives in a guided manner. The focus was to have two-way conversations about the things that matter most to young people today. When young people are equipped with correct information about SRHR and can learn to accept people’s diverse experiences, choices and lives, they can exercise their agency to make informed decisions and hold space for others to do the same. Respect for individuals, especially #women, should be ingrained in our interactions, policies, and cultural norms. Ensuring everyone's safety and well-being is crucial, requiring strong safety measures and supportive environments. Consent is clear and non-negotiable; respecting autonomy is fundamental. The #RGKar incident, which highlights the dire consequences of systemic failures, underscores the urgent need for change and robust responses from institutions, including safety protocols, support systems, and empowering cultures. Understanding consent and challenging entitlement are essential. Promoting equality involves advocating for rights, supporting ambitions, and challenging biases. Education, policy enforcement, and community engagement are vital for building a respectful and inclusive society. The RGKar incident serves as a stark reminder of our collective responsibility to ensure dignity and respect for all, especially women.

Kick Off meeting for the third phase of Coaching on Gender Inclusivity in TVET started from today November till February, where me & my coaching partner@ Nadja Frercksen have to coach 50 trainees. Training is most impactful when it comes to consulting. Our project with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and WINS Global Consult GmbH had three phases: 1. Training Need Analysis (TNA) 2. Training Delivery 3. Coaching Core purpose is to enable TVET master trainers to create a lesson planning strateies that integrates gender and inclusion considerations into their specific trade, fostering a more equitable and inclusive learning environment for all trainees.
