We may be facing uncertain economic times, but we can’t forget the importance of continuing to build. In January, Cecile joined us to help our partners drive forward their tech teams and recently we sat down to discuss key tech hiring trends in 2024. It was a hugely insightful session, and across the interview we dived into four key areas that technology leaders need to be focussing on right now: - Hiring - We have to understand what skills we need AND where we can get them from. Traditional pathways can’t (and shouldn't) be relied on to deliver on tech’s growing demands so embrace non-traditional pathways that are providing the skills the industry needs right now. - Culture - The importance of cultivating it throughout our organisations, building diversity into everything we do and supporting people from all backgrounds to thrive in our businesses. - Team Structure - Learning the lessons from 2007. If we stall, we fall behind. The junior people you bring in now are your future leaders, but you have to make sure they’re supported. - Employer Brand - A brand is a promise, that counts for employers too. And tech has an image problem. To attract the best people to tech, we need to change that for good by putting purpose first, placing candidates at the core and treating them the right way.
