Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC)’s Post

Just last week, the Crown Point Community Foundation, Porter County Community Foundation and the Unity Foundation secured a $20 million in Lilly Endowment grant to help make the Lake Michigan shoreline more accessible to both residents and visitors to our Region. Several projects have been proposed to facilitate with this goal under the banner "NWI Thrive." The landmark project will involve bicycle and pedestrian connections to the beach and downtown districts from the Marquette Greenway and various South Shore Line stations.
