#Day3 my 1st visit as the new Chief Nurse for London NHS England was to the brand new NHSBT Cellular & Molecular Therapies in #Brixton also #Day3 I had the pleasure of spending time with Denise Mairéad Thiruchelvam Chief Nurse & the team. Thank you to Williams who helped me give my 76th blood 🩸donation 💙. As a black person with 0+ blood with RO subtype I know how rare this blood subtype is. RO is more common in people of Black heritage: Prevalence & found in only 2–4% of blood donors, but is up to 55% prevalent in people of Black heritage. This an inspired move to have a centre right in the heart of one of the oldest & most diverse communities in London. I hope this will increase donations from the black community. But anyone eligible can give. So #AreYouTheGivingType?
