#HappyThanksgiving to all #AVTweeps celebrating this weekend! 🇺🇸 🦃
Being born and raised in the UK, I didn’t know that this holiday was such a big deal - until I watched one of my all time fave films Planes, Trains and Automobiles! (♥️ John Candy)!
But being grateful and thankful is something we definitely grew up with at home. The phrase which translates to ‘thanks and praise to God’ tripped off the tongue, even when bad things happened, and still does. Just no special day, Turkey or Perfection Salad #IYKYK 😆
I am so very grateful for my network, for industry peers and colleagues that have become great friends, and for the opportunities and voice I have at a time in the world where there is still oppression, war and sanctions for millions of people.
So today, my HUGE thanks to Jeffrey BoggessAvocor for having this conversation with me about creating safe and positive work places where people can be authentic, supported to do well, and thrive at their jobs - which we should all be able to! Thank you also to Natalie Harris-Briggs for making it happen! 🙏🏼♥️
Enjoy the holiday, have fun those of you who are off, spare a thought for us still working, and maybe tune in, watch or listen to this episode! 🙏🏼♥️🦃
P.S. if you know of or ever had Perfection Salad, I want to know about it! #AskingForAFriend 😆

Authenticity Builds Influence
I just wrapped up an incredible
conversation with Suzanne Taylor-King "STK",
and I couldn’t wait to share
some highlights with you.
Here’s what’s lighting me up about our chat:
👉 Authenticity is everything:
Showing up as your true self
is the game-changer in
business and relationships.
👉 It’s about them, not us:
Suzanne and I are all about
creating value for others.
It’s not about spotlighting our achievements
but about how we can genuinely serve.
👉 Coaching with purpose:
We shared ideas on crafting
coaching programs that
not only stand out
but also deeply resonate,
all while dreaming of ways to expand
influence in meaningful ways.
This conversation has me feeling inspired to double
down on connection, impact, and making a difference.

Who would you invite to your BBQ?
This conversations happened to often not to share.
In my coaching circles we often talk about connecting. What that looks like or what it means for each one of us.
For me it’s about who id most want at my BBQ. I love a good get together and BBQ and I love connecting at a level that gets beyond the surface.
Conversations about the weather, sports or favorite beers don’t excite me.
I want to invite people who want to talk about life at a deeper level, challenges we are facing or how we’re dealing with problems around us.
Impacts we want to make in the world and issues bigger than us.
Those conversations excite me.
So I’m curious. Who would you invite and to what. Would it be a BBQ?

Strategic stories become 'cultural touchstones' in your organization.
We've seen how these stories get ingrained into a Brand and become 'the thing' people point to when they are trying to define the culture.
In this episode of the Training Simplified PodcastSam and Matt explore how they've practically integrated these stories in a Hospitality Brand.
🚨 New VLOG Alert 🚨 Episode #83
Welcome back Tiffany Osmond to Jason’s Thoughts to unpack a conversation around handling Change!
I’m so pumped to have Tiffany join the vlog again! Tiffany and I start our conversation around Changes we’ve gone through in life. Changes that were unexpected or not within our control and most importantly best practices.
Tiffany shares a multitude of great tips and tricks she uses in navigating through change:
- biggest factors that influence how you will feel about change ❤️
- true strategies on how to digest and absorb the change initially 🤔
- how to control your mindset 🫣
- how to support others through life changes 🙏🏼
- best practices on how to become someone that welcomes change 😎
Even though Tiff and I work together everyday in a virtual environment these conversations are amazing. We both handle change a lot differently and it’s in the variance that we both can come ahead from each others best practices and handle change when it happens better moving forward! 🧠

Hosting this week's episode of #TheThoughtfulTalentsShow turned out to be significant self-reflection moment for me...and I think it could be one for you too.
For this week's episode, Jen Werner and I welcomed fellow #e2grow and #Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, Kristen O'Shea, M.Ed. and Ron Cheshire, MBA, PCC, to discuss the CliftonStrengths®️ Discipline®️ talent theme.
Listen here: https://lnkd.in/e-NPasMt
Now, Discipline is my No. 6 talent theme so this wasn't unfamiliar territory for me. Yet, as I listened to Kristen and Ron talk, it occurred to me that many of my behaviors I thought came from my Responsibility, Deliberative, and Harmony themes are more likely actually coming from my Discipline theme. In particular...
✅ When I've desired my (former) leaders to just "let me do it", I thought it came from a place of "just trust me; it will get done." After hearing Kristen speak, I realized it comes from a desire to be in control of my own time, resources, and energy.
📅When I've tried to "time block" all my days to be the same, it's always felt uncomfortable. I always attributed it to the idea that "I'm responsible for different things each week" (Responsibility) and I need flexibility for potential risks/changes to my calendar (Deliberative). What I discovered through Kristen is that it's not about "daily same-ness"; it's about generating a sense of predictability -- that she/I/you(?) know what's coming each day/week/month. I can lean into my Discipline + Individualization talents to help "personalize" my weekly schedule based on responding to different demands.
📄I've always had a tough time with the "blank page." I always attributed that to my Deliberative-driven "risk-aversion" tendencies. I can often be unsure of where to start. What Ron helped me understand is that my Discipline talents might also be contributing in less-than-helpful ways. Those with Discipline talents (often) love a framework. Frameworks provide a structure upon which to "hang" new ideas. The blank page is the opposite of a structure. There is no notable starting place. Thus, the blank page is a very rough place to start for someone with Discipline talents.
Coming out of this episode, I think it's important for #TeamLeaders to understand that your Discipline-talented teammates can thrive when you...
➡️Provide clear guidelines and parameters -- Then allow them to develop their own process; one that allows them to control their time, energy, and resources.
➡️Don't tell them twice -- For many with Discipline talents this can be perceived as untrusting...or even insulting their ability to get it done.
➡️Find roles and projects where they can operate on their own -- without impeding others and that still serve the team or organization.
Have Discipline talents yourself? Work with someone who does? Add to the conversation below!
