Each year, the partners at C. Hoare & Co. donate up to 10% of the bank’s profits to the Golden Bottle Trust (GBT), which makes grants to a wide range of charitable causes. To maximise the GBT’s positive social and environmental impact, it’s crucial to consider both grants and investments as part of the resources that can be used. It calls this concept total portfolio impact. In 2011, 10% of the GBT’s portfolio was committed to impact investments, this rose gradually over the years, reaching 100% in 2019.
