1 in 10 non-birthing partners experience postpartum anxiety or depression. And it’s often harder for them to get support. Although the pregnant woman is the star 🌟 (as she should be!), surrounding her with a prepared, stable partner has a huge impact on mom and baby. Today marks the beginning of pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. This month provides an opportunity to raise awareness, to remember and acknowledge our babies loss to miscarriage, born sleeping or neonatal death. It is also important to raise awareness of the emotional and psychological challenges and journeys of those who experience this pregnancy and infant loss. Often, socially people don't know what to say to someone in these circumstances, but maybe we just need to hold a space for them and ask them what they need with compassion and empathy. #pregnancyandinfantlossawareness #perinatalmentalheath #griefsupport

This week marks Baby Loss Awareness Week, a topic often misunderstood and unacknowledged. Baby loss is sadly all too common with 25% of pregnancies ending in miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR or neonatal death. If you are looking to engage your employees in the conversation about Pregnancy, Baby Loss and Grief, we recommend joining our friends at Good Grief this Thursday for their panel discussion on this topic. https://lnkd.in/ekiTfXzv More resources on this week & how your organisation can get involved can be found here - https://lnkd.in/d-nY6mF #babylossawarenessweek #grief

There is 1 week to go until #BLAW2024 💖💙 Our theme this year, 'Together, we care' is centred on the message that self-care is the most important way to show we care. In fact it’s essential if we are going to be able to raise awareness and speak out about pregnancy and baby loss. Sometimes self-care can be small daily acts, and sometimes it is about seeking support from others to help us on our own unique journey. How you want to be involved with Baby Loss Awareness Week may change over time too, and this is a gentle reminder that if being involved this year doesn’t feel right for you, or perhaps you’re thinking about being involved in a different way, that’s okay. However you choose to get involved, or if you are finding it difficult right now, and are deciding not to take part, that is fine. We are here to support you ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/exbixyg #BabyLoss #PregnancyLoss #BabyLossAwarenessWeek #WaveOfLight
