Annual leave research 2024 In our latest survey report, we explore organisations' annual leave offerings and the practices used to manage employee holiday. Our latest research examines organisations' annual leave offerings. We share insights into basic holiday entitlement and leave management, along with practices used to enhance flexibility for employees, including leave carry-over and flexible bank holidays. We also explore length of service leave and more unique leave benefits offered by some employers. Annual leave is important for both employees and employers - it supports employee wellbeing, reduces stress and risk of burnout, and boosts productivity upon return to work. Along with other types of paid time off, it is a key part of the employee value proposition, and employees increasingly expect leave benefits that support and enable work-life balance. Our analysis explores the paid leave practices of 364 organisations from across the public-, private- and not-for-profit sectors. All figures reported are based on full-time employees. Together with a recent increase in the national minimum wage, statutory payments are also being enhanced this month. Make sure to take note of the new rates so that you remain compliant with changing legislation. 6th April 2024; Statutory Sick Pay The weekly rate of SSP is set to increase from £109.40 to £116.75, whilst the lower earnings limit is staying put at a total of £123 per week. 7th April 2024: Family Friendly Payments The weekly rate for family friendly leave is increasing from £172.48 to £184.03 per week, for those employees that are eligible.
