Just got back from the InventU 3rd Sustainable Home Care and #Beauty Forum in Amsterdam! 🌍 It was an incredible experience where I had the chance to present on challenges, strategies and solutions in sustainable cosmetic product development for SMEs. 💡 Connecting with industry leaders from all over Europe was inspiring, especially seeing everyone so focused on reducing our environmental footprint! 🌱 A big shout-out to Ruth Andrade for moderating such an engaging beauty stream. Here are my key takeaways: ✅ Carbon Capture Utilization (CCU) needs more attention – it has massive potential! ✅ We need to prioritize data management to properly track and show our improvements. ✅ Regulatory changes are pushing us to innovate and adapt faster. We need to create value and not only compliance! ✅ R&D has a key role in driving sustainable transformation, whether you’re a big player or a small one. ✅ Let’s not forget – R&D should tell stories to help people connect with these innovations. Great event, great presentations, great connections, and plenty to look forward to! Announcement: Arkive HITS the labs! 🧪 Arkive is embarking on a groundbreaking research project to advance circularity in the beauty industry. Special thanks to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for providing the budget via the #MIT fund to stimulate #innovation in The Netherlands. With this budget, we will analyze the technical- and economic feasibility of this crucial step toward becoming 100% circular in the cosmetic industry. Together with Joanne N., a cosmetic scientist, we’ll be proving that it’s possible to separate oils and alcohol from cosmetic waste. Once we’ve sorted these ingredients, we’ll collaborate with our ecosystem partners, like Rondo, to further enhance #circularity in the industry. Our goal? To turn these separated materials into fuel via ecosystem partners in our system like bp. Arkive makes circularity not only achievable but also affordable.
