🤭 You might remember me posting about my FIRST ever podcast a few weeks ago. I already warned you that there will be a second episode as I couldn't stop babbling - so here you go (link in the comments): Baby Jessi Parker and me have continued our talk around corporate venture studios and dove into: 🔷 Why the corporate brand behind a venture studio can help the ventures with winning first clients in enterprise sales. 🔷 Why leveraging corporate assets is much harder in reality than on paper - but there are good ways to do it. 🔷 How to attract the right founders and what profiles are the right ones. 🔷 Why an external partner (suprise - such like us) can help to provide the relevant supporting cast for the founders and network into the VC world. 🔷 Our 4 key learnings from running the Schenker Venture Studio (for the unpatient folks - Minute 13:30 is where this starts ;-) ) Would love to get your feedback and hear if such content is relevant enough to build a full-time podcaster business. Asking for a friend 😅 .

🌟 Pitch Perfect (Kind Of) 🌟 Feeling like you’re winging it as a founder? 🤪 Cien S. has been there too! Cien recently shared a bold story about seizing the moment. 🙋♀️ She jumped into a pitch competition with no pitch deck, just an MVP and a few users. Crazy, right? 😳 But guess what? She made it to the shortlist out of hundreds! 💥 The judges, including Sam Parr from My First Million podcast, loved the idea and even said the business was “venture backable” 💸… despite not being registered at Companies House yet! 😂 The best part? It drove traffic to her app and doubled their signups! 🚀 Sometimes, you just have to shoot your shot before you feel “ready.” What’s the most spontaneous (or crazy?) thing you’ve done to grow your business? Drop your ‘winging it’ stories in the comments! 💬 #founderlife #pitching #startupgrowth

In my heart of hearts, I'm a creative. So much of where I shine is in situations where we need to cultivate and create something out of nothing, and than figure out how to help it grow over time. This is why I identify so much as a founder, and why I have so much love for the kinds of folks that love to build things from scratch. Last year I launched something new with Jeff Meade for this exact reason. A podcast for creative founders & agency owners, Creative Friction was built to guide folks doing their best to make a living off of their creative abilities. We took a healthy pause after our first season, but are brainstorming about bringing it back and want to hear from folks as to what they need. https://lnkd.in/eZSUYmR5 I forgot to share last week’s episode Join the celebration of value creation and financial wisdom as I sit down with the remarkable entrepreneur and author Lee Benson to mark three incredible years of podcasting. Discover the transformative journey from launching Abbey Aerospace to penning the "Value Creation Kid," and why financial education in childhood is the cornerstone for grooming future innovators. We unravel personal parenting tales, acknowledging that shielding our kids from struggle might just shield them from success, highlighting the necessity of challenges in shaping responsible, value-creating adults. Embark on a deep exploration of the nuanced art of value creation for entrepreneurs, where we dissect the common trap of underselling ourselves and the pursuit of genuine value over mere sales numbers. Lee and I draw lessons from Disneyland's unforgettable experiences, examining value creation across material, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. Furthermore, we discuss the impact of emotional energy in leadership and the arts, and how self-awareness and challenging the status quo can lead to internal fulfillment and positive change. Wrapping up with broader perspectives on value creation, success, and leadership, we challenge traditional educational paths and emphasize practical application and intrinsic motivation, inspired by wisdom from my late business partner, Jack Welch. We confront the resistance to change in established systems like education, and through stories of entrepreneurship and a Tanzanian student's outlook, we celebrate the power of perseverance and proactive living. This episode not only honors the entrepreneurial spirit but serves as a call to action for carving paths of value that contribute to a legacy of success and fulfillment for future generations. Picture this: 7 out of 10 investors you want to pitch first ask for a picture with you. Steven Bartlett, the co-founder of the fastest-ever growing social media marketing agency in Europe, Social Chain experienced this first hand! On this particular episode of his podcast, He said he went into a room to pitch 10 investors. It was a pitch for a business opportunity. (note at the time he had a huge online presence) But 7 out of 10 investors asked him for a photo before he pitched anything. He said, “My reputation got to the room before I did”. He wasn’t pitching investors that day. He was pitching his fans. Imagine that power dynamic shift. This is what a personal brand can do for you. Start building your personal brand and never worry about how your pitch goes 😉 P.S. If you are a founder or a coach and are ready to build your personal brand, DM me.

OOOOHHHH! I am excited for this episode, because it a topic I am asked about A LOT! That is metrics my friend! Far too many of us are focusing on the numbers that simply aren't the symbol of success we have been led to believe—likes, followers, page views—yes they matter, but how much time should we really spend analyzing these numbers? In this week's episode of The Solo Grind, I'm breaking down how to shift your focus from the "flashy" numbers to the ones that actually help you grow your business. 🎙️ Here's what we're diving into: ➡️ Why some metrics don't matter as much as you think ➡️ The ONE metric that truly measures business success ➡️ How focusing on the right numbers can be a game changer If you're ready to stop chasing numbers that look good and start focusing on real business growth this episode is for you! 💥 Listen to Episode 6: https://lnkd.in/gdwkGPTv #SoloEntrepreneur #MetricsThatMatter #BusinessGrowth #VanityMetrics #BusinessSuccess #EntrepreneurLife #PodcastEpisode #TheSoloGrind
