Last week we hosted a roundtable event focused on financial sustainability in the higher education sector. You can read more below about the discussion that took place, which included learnings from an NHS Finance Director. We’ll share more insights on this topic in the coming months, but please get in touch with Kieran Cooke if you’d like to arrange a conversation.
This week Moorhouse | B Corp Certified hosted senior leaders from across the HE sector to discuss financial sustainability. We had a Finance Director from an NHS trust share some insights on how they have addressed similar challenges. This prompted a rich discussion which surfaced some important themes including: - The importance of culture in improving financial sustainability and key enablers of this including having a shared vision, well-developed financial literacy and strong leadership capability. - Achieving the right balance between tactical and strategic actions, framed around an explicit purpose of improving financial sustainability. - Distinguishing between what’s in the university’s control vs what’s required from a policy level to deliver improved financial sustainability Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing more detailed insights around these themes in supporting universities to achieve increased financial sustainability. If you’d like to find out more, please do get in touch.
