SENSOR+TEST 2024: DIAS Infrared GmbH is expanding its range of ratio #pyrometers. Based on Planck’s radiation law temperatures can be measured contactless using pyrometers. In the industrial environment in particular, there are applications where the emissivity of the #measurement object is unknown or changes over time. VEGA WEIGHTRAC: Measurement of mass flow on conveyor belts with radiometric measuring principle. In radiometric measurement, an isotope emits focussed gamma rays. The sensor on the opposite side of the conveyor belt receives the radiation. The scintillator of the sensor converts the gamma radiation into signals, whose quantity is detected and evaluated. Because gamma rays are attenuated when penetrating matter, the detector can calculate the mass flow based on the change in intensity. https://lnkd.in/dcGxs2Qv

Neutron bubble detector. 1.Bubble detector cap is unscrewed reducing the chamber pressure and allowing measurement. 2.Detector is exposed to neutrons. Neutron interactions superheat the polymer forming bubbles. 3.Bubbles are counted either by eye or optically. The number of bubbles is correlated with fluence or absorbed dose. 4.Bubble detector is reset by screwing down cap causing the internal pressure to increase. https://lnkd.in/deXXjUqu

Scintillators Scintillator is a general term for substances that emit fluorescence when exposed to radiation such as X-rays and γ-rays, it is a type of phosphor. When radiation collides with this substance, it absorbs its energy and internal electrons move from the ground state (stable state) to the excited state (agitated state).
