Commissioner Bob Jacobson and Deputy Commissioner Cassandra O’Hern took a few minutes thank our more than 2,200 employees for their work this year, and a few of our staff also wanted to share their holiday wishes! Have a safe and happy holiday season!

We highly value family time and understand that even minor accidents and injuries can have major impacts on your role in your family. If an injury has impacted your life and your family, let us help guide you through it.
Having a work/life balance is so important to me. This past weekend, my wife and I took the kids to go get their picture taken with Santa. This is a family tradition and we use the picture for our Christmas card every year. I'm beyond grateful that I am able to prioritize my family. What are you thankful for this week? #thankfulthursday

A Holiday Message About Appreciation As we reflect on this season, we are reminded of a classic holiday story: the tale of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. At first, Rudolph's glowing nose set him apart and it was not always celebrated. But when a foggy Christmas Eve threatened to halt Santa's journey, it was Rudolph's unique talent that saved the day, guiding the sleigh and ensuring joy reached every corner of the world. This story is a reminder of the importance of recognising and valuing each team member's individuality and contributions. Just like Rudolph, each employee brings something unique to the table- whether they lead the way, support from behind the scenes, or go above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. At Brownie Points we are proud to help organisations celebrate the exceptional qualities of every team member through tailored rewards and recognition programs. When your team feels recognised and appreciated, their engagement and productivity shine even brighter. We encourage you to take a moment to celebrate and elevate your team. Their efforts, big and small, make your success possible. And you make a difference here every day, and for that, we remain grateful. Wishing you a holiday season filled with warmth, wonder and the magic of the season and a New Year filled with growth, purpose & positivity. Continuing on our countdown to Christmas. 🎄 Three French hens? Hmm, not exactly top of the Christmas wish list, is it? We're pretty sure your employees have their sights set on something a bit more... useful. This year, give your team what they really want: 1️⃣ Flexibility Let's be honest, nobody wants to be chained to their desk. Offer flexible working arrangements and watch productivity (and job satisfaction) soar! 2️⃣ Development Opportunities Show your employees you're invested in their future. Provide training, mentorship, and chances to learn and grow. 3️⃣ Appreciation A little recognition goes a long way. Show your team you value their hard work with genuine appreciation and maybe even a Christmas bonus. So, skip the poultry and give your employees the gifts they actually want this year. It's the best way to spread some festive cheer and show your team you care. #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeBenefits #WeLove9am #EmployerBranding

🐓I don’t miss the roosters. 🐓 In today’s All Hands meeting we celebrated 20 colleagues who have been part of the VisionSpring journey for 5, 7 and 10+ years. Their tenacity, integrity and smarts have molded us into the dynamic, purpose-first team we are today—now more than 425 strong! Coming into this All Hands meeting, I was reflecting on what our All Hands felt like 9 years ago when we first started them. 🐓 We didn’t afford ourselves a video platform with mic control so the remarks were constantly interrupted by roosters and horns beeping. 🔆 We could cover most of our organizational activity in the agenda. Now we curate select highlights - wins and worries. 🎉 We were celebrating welcomes and just a handful of 3-year work anniversaries. Now we’ve got so many committed colleagues, we start at 5 years and need a reel! A lot has changed. But the spirit of connectedness across time, space, language and cultures is stronger than ever…as evidenced in our chat! As we head into Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the unique contributions and perspectives of my colleagues. You have propelled us to screen the vision of more than 2.8 million people and correct the vision of more than 2 million people this year alone. Here’s to your brilliance and the many more milestones we’ll achieve together. #Teamwork #Milestones #Gratitude #SocialEntrepreneurship

Just as Thanksgiving, a time for gratitude, precedes the season of giving at Christmas, employees must feel valued at work to perform their best as a form of appreciation. So what exactly makes us Grateful to our Employers enabling us to offer our best work? Remuneration: Feeling valued by our employers is crucial, and this often comes from fair compensation. Whether it’s market rate salaries, commissions above a draw, or commission-only arrangements where we receive the majority of the invoice, these reflect our worth and expertise. Without feeling valued in our roles, it’s difficult to feel gratitude or deliver our best work. Career investment development is also key: Recognition, validation, and value can be felt through ongoing training, leadership opportunities, mentoring, and promotions. Such investments by employers make us feel appreciated and motivate us to excel in our roles. Flexibility and Culture: The concept of “partnership” is often considered the most effective way to manage. The best leaders and coaches are those who work alongside their teams and support them actively. When leaders demonstrate that they have our backs and collaborate closely, it fosters gratitude among team members. Offering flexibility—whether in terms of work-life balance or options like additional work-from-home days without financial penalties—shows that employers value and trust us. This gratitude and understanding from our employers encourage us to deliver our best work. When we gather with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, let’s take a moment to reflect on what aspects of our current roles we are grateful for, ensuring that we are contributing our utmost effort and excellence to our jobs. As the year draws to a close, I encourage you to schedule a meeting with us to discuss your career journey. Let’s identify what might be lacking in terms of gratitude in your current role that’s holding you back from delivering your best work and realizing your full potential. Together, we can set the stage for your future success and a strong 2025! #thanksgiving #GratitudeAtWork #CareerGrowth

Hi everyone! Mark Maxfield here, CEO of The Cottages Assisted Living & Memory Care. Those who work for me know that culture is one of the most important things to me for my company. I hired a company President a little over a year ago, which has allowed me to work on the growth and culture of my company. Culture is often what you see, hear, and feel when you walk into your place of business. For me it would be one of our assisted living communities. Recently we had all of our community summer BBQs. I was able to go to ten of them and they were fantastic. I’ve been very impressed with how many people from our other communities showed up to help their sister communities. They assisted with preparing the meals, setting up decorations, and cleaning up. It involved a lot of work. So, my message for you leaders this month is, are you fostering an environment in your culture where people feel comfortable helping other people do their jobs? That means you have to be ok with cross training and cross supporting, so that people don’t feel siloed and like it’s a competition. It shouldn’t feel like a competition. Instead, it should feel like, this is our team. This is our company. How can we help each other to be successful? That’s one thing that I’ve noticed that is really improving in our company. I’m so proud of that and great job everyone! As a leader that is something you can look forward to as well. Making sure that everyone feels safe so that they feel like they can help everyone. In so doing, your entire company will be successful. See you next time. #cottagespride #assistedliving #longtermcare #seniorliving #seniorcare #seniors #healthcare #improvelives #deliverqualitycare #caregiveroftheyear
