A vital truth in the charity sector: 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 is the currency that sustains charitable work. Charities face unique challenges in building trust, especially where public perception is easily swayed by 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢, 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. The Public Trust Report 2024 highlights 2 key areas where charities should focus there efforts: 1) First, transparency is 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. The more charities are open about their finances, actions, and impact, the more likely they are to retain and build trust. Help supporters see exactly where their contributions are going and the difference they’re making. 2) Second, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 matters. Trust tends to be higher in local and smaller charities where donors can see the impact of their contributions firsthand. While national charities might struggle with this, technology can bridge the gap by offering personalised updates, tailored communications, and real-time impact stories that resonate with donors. Clogs in your pipeline lead to donors giving less or stopping their giving all together and they get in the way from the donor continuing to deepen their relationship with your organization. How can you tell if your pipeline is clogged? Start with these four steps: 🔸 Analyze the data: You can have Veritus analyze your data for free or have your data manager do it.
