Here’s what to consider to mitigate risk at each early-stage funding round 👇 1️⃣ Pre-startup A solid pitch is the bare minimum at this point. Your pitch should be able to attract co-founders and early employees 2️⃣ Angel stage Though Angels are typically comfortable investing in teams due to a personal connection to the founders or the product, a functional MVP would make all the difference here 3️⃣ Pre-Seed Pre-seed investors often look for strong teams with an attractive, functional MVP that shows interesting growth signals 4️⃣ Seed Once you have crushed your MVP and secured a Pre-Seed round, finding Product-Market Fit is your #1 priority. Investors at this point typically look for early PMF signs like market pull and sales momentum. 5️⃣ Series A A defined Go-to-market (GTM) strategy is key to sparking Series A conversations.
