Another way to give is by volunteering your time to a cause that you care about. Building a strong local network is not just about networking events. Which of these additional ways to get involved do you practice? Which work best for you? Join a book club or discussion group. Take a class at a local community college or recreation center. Teach a class or workshop. Register to vote and participate in elections. Write letters to your elected officials. Donate to a local charity or nonprofit organization. Sign up for a neighborhood watch program. Report problems to the appropriate authorities. Be a good neighbor. Get to know the people who live around you and be there for them in times of need. Spread the word about ways to get involved.

Do you want to raise a child who sees the importance of volunteering and giving back? Try showing them what it looks like to have these values. Sure, reading books about being kind and filling buckets is beneficial. Yes, conversations about this topic are helpful. But when your child sees you volunteering, donating, and supporting causes that are important to you, they learn to invest their own time in energy into these things too. So the next time you're supporting a cause you care about. Consider bringing them with you. Can they volunteer too? If not, can you show them pictures of what you do or what the organization does? Think about ways you can empower them to get involved. For example, here's an easy way to support the students of Toa Tumaini Foundation this month: 1 - Sit down with your child to learn about TTF's work and the children we serve. Show them pictures and videos from our social media. 2 - Invite your child to draw a picture for or write a letter to students in Tanzania. 3 - Encourage them to think of ways to raise money to donate to education in Tanzania: garage sales, selling books to a used book store, birthday fundraisers, etc. Try it and let us know how it goes! What are your favorite ways to teach your kids to give back? #NonprofitOrganization #Volunteer #VolunteerWithKids #KidsThatVolunteer

Do Street Fundraising Campaigns Work for Charities and NGOs? As someone involved in outreach work, I've often wondered about the effectiveness of stopping people on the street to promote causes and ask for donations. What is the actual engagement rate for such efforts? Personally, I find this approach somewhat intrusive and often question whether the individuals are genuine representatives or potential scammers. Observing these interactions, it seems many staff and volunteers are frequently ignored, suggesting a low success rate in reaching their goals. If the engagement is indeed low, could charities and NGOs benefit more from redirecting their limited outreach budgets to alternative methods? For example, investing in social media promotions to boost visibility and engagement. I’m genuinely curious to hear others’ thoughts and experiences on this topic. What strategies have proven effective in your outreach efforts? #CharityOutreach #Fundraising #NGO #SocialMediaMarketing #PublicEngagement

Donating to a local cause as a business creates a meaningful connection among your employees and deepens your connection to your community. ✨ Here are a few points to keep in mind when you do begin to give to charity: 1. Connect your cause to your company. 2. Ask employees for causes to support so they will feel more connected to the effort. 3. Support causes you care about in your backyard because employees and local customers will appreciate you giving back to community they live in. 4. Build morale and corporate culture by offering volunteer opportunities, not just writing a check. Charitable giving is about coming together, so don’t forget to ask your employees and community which causes are most important to them. By asking and listening to their opinion, you’re building a greater network of support. #CharitableGiving #SocialChange #PhilanthopicEfforts
