We understand that abrasive blasting can be a hazardous task with risk of operator fatigue and accidents. Therefore, safety is paramount! Safety is very important when it comes to BAABS. -The G3 Trigger deadman with safety flap mechanically prevents inadvertent activation. -The redundant spring-loaded safety latch assures base stays wrapped around blast hose. Axxiom’s G3 Trigger guard provides additional protection (better than ALL lever style deadman controls currently in the market). -Ergonomic pistol style full grip trigger can be sustained for many times longer than conventional method. -Passively safe grip design (nozzle thrust pushes grip securely into blaster’s palm). -Swivel feature on rail eliminates the need to readjust grip when adjusting blasting positions. -Thrust brace diverts nozzle thrust onto thrust pad which can be anchored to any part of the body that can securely provide control. -Utilizing thrust brace will dramatically reduce physical exertion.

The harness for the win👍 Wearing a harness is crucial for various reasons, especially when working at height or in situations where falls are a risk. Let’s explore the importance of wearing a harness: Fall Protection: A full body harness and lanyard are designed to prevent falls from height. By using appropriate anchorage points positioned above the worker, the distance of the swing during a fall is reduced. The harness acts as a barrier, minimizing the risk of serious injuries or fatalities by preventing the worker from impacting equipment or buildings1. Increased Stability: A well-fitted harness keeps a worker stable and balanced while working at height. Adjustable straps on the harness help center it around the body, reducing stress and fear of falling. Hands-Free Operation: Harnesses often have multiple attachment points for tools and equipment, allowing workers to keep their hands free. This feature improves productivity and enables complex tasks that require both hands, while also preventing accidental tool drops that could harm others on the ground. Distribution of Impact Forces: The harness straps distribute forces exerted during a fall across the shoulders, chest, waist, and legs. This even distribution helps reduce the risk of serious injury by minimizing the impact on any specific body part. Remember that proper training in using a safety harness is essential. Regular inspections to ensure the harness is undamaged are also vital for maintaining safety. Do you know the difference between cut protection and abrasion protection? Protecting your lifting slings is great practice, but you also need to ensure you are using the correct type of sling protection for the job. Unfortunately, some people overlook the differences between cut and abrasion protection. What are they? With the help of Terry Driscoll, we break it down. Abrasion protection is great to use when lifting things with rough edges or even just everyday daily use. Synthetic slings are easily damaged, and once abrasion occurs on the sling, it can no longer be used to lift a load. This is removal criteria, and the sling needs to be pulled from service. Cut protection should be used anytime you are lifting anything with an edge. An edge, whether you think it is "sharp" or not can cut through a synthetic sling like butter once a heavy load is applied. We understand that there are many types of abrasion and cut protection products out on the market.
