Here’s your weekly reminder to do good in this world. This week, we received an inspiring message from a member of Clarence F. Daylight Lodge No. 866 in Van Nuys, CA. The lodge was recognized by the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education with a Certificate of Recognition for their incredible support of students experiencing homelessness. Through fundraisers, donations of school supplies, and hygiene kits, these Freemasons have made a lasting impact on countless young lives. The certificate, signed by Board Vice President Scott M. Schmerelson, honors their "tireless commitment" to supporting the district’s Homeless Education Office. Stories like this remind us of the power of collective effort and our commitment to supporting our communities. Freemasons like the members of Clarence F. Daylight lodge are changing lives and showing what it means to lead with heart. Let’s celebrate their achievement and keep working toward a brighter future for all. #MasonsofCA #Freemasonry #CommunityService #EducationMatters

Today is Giving Tuesday- If you’re looking for ways to contribute, I’d like to share two organizations that mean a great deal to me—both of which work tirelessly to address food insecurity and support individuals and families in vulnerable situations. Saint Vincent de Paul https://ssvpusa.org/ Every day, teams of volunteers across the U.S. answer calls for help from neighbors in need. Whether it’s food, rent, utility bills, clothing, or other essentials, this organization steps in during critical moments to prevent hunger and homelessness. I’ve had the privilege of being one of those volunteers, and it’s been a humbling experience to deliver food or help with rent for families who simply need a bit of assistance to make it to the next paycheck. These are people in our communities—our neighbors—who find themselves in difficult circumstances through no fault of their own. Even a small donation can make a world of difference. Imagine skipping one dinner out to help a child have warm clothes or a family keep the lights on. Mary’s Meals https://lnkd.in/gyj86h3v MM feeds over 2.5 million children every school day, breaking the cycle of hunger and paving the way for education and opportunity. Just $25 can feed a child for an entire year. Hunger makes it nearly impossible for children to focus, learn, or dream. By addressing this fundamental need, Mary’s Meals is transforming lives on a global scale. I’ve seen firsthand how even the smallest contribution can change lives, so feel free to PM me and I'll share some insights. #GivingTuesday #SaintVincentDePaul #MarysMeals #EndHunger #GiveBack

Donating to support widows can have a profound impact for several reasons: 1. **Economic Stability**: Widows often face significant financial hardships, especially in regions where women have limited access to economic resources and opportunities. Your support can help them achieve economic stability. 2. **Education and Empowerment**: Donations can fund educational programs, vocational training, and other initiatives that empower widows to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. 3. **Mental and Emotional Support**: Losing a spouse can be emotionally devastating. Charities and organizations often provide counseling and community support, which can be crucial for mental well-being. 4. **Social Justice**: In many cultures, widows may face discrimination and social exclusion. Supporting them can help fight against these injustices and promote equality. 5. **Community Development**: Helping widows can have a ripple effect, benefiting their children and communities by fostering a more stable and inclusive environment. 6. **Humanitarian Compassion**: Donating is an act of compassion and solidarity, showing that you care about the well-being of those who are vulnerable and in need of support.

The people that our local community kitchens support are not just "homeless people". Community kitchens and food banks are the back bones of our community that support all those in need of support. Many of our nations veterans and elders, children and hardworking single parents use the kitchen to fill the gaps. Not only fill the gaps, but for some the weekly food boxes and nightly meals are all they have to survive. With rising costs of living with everything from the gas we use to go to work, to the boots we pull ourselves up with food kitchens are in demand. The demand is something that is hard to keep up with on fixed budgets and limited donations. In the coming weeks that demand will increase as youth will be home more as school lets out. The meals once provided in the school system now fall on the already stretched budgets of the average American household. Lets do what we can to empower and have compassion to gain awareness about who uses the food kitchens and what we can do to help. Even if it's just slinging a few boxes of tomatoes to help out during a deliver. It is a step. #giveback #volunteer #communitywork #foodpantry #careergrowth #personalgrowth #investment #leadership #communityleadership #leadershipdevelopment

Looking to make a meaningful impact on Giving Tuesday? Please consider giving to Arlington Thrive, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, holistic support to families in need of financial, early childhood, and personalized services to foster long term self-sufficiency. As Treasurer, I see first hand the increasing need and limited funding. Over 51% of South Arlington residents can not afford basic needs due to inflation and reduced safety net programs. Arlington's home ownership rate is 42% compared to a 73% national average, making many more households vulnerable to eviction. Homelessness is up 33% in Arlington. Every little bit goes a long way. Only $100 keeps the heat on for a family struggling to pay utility bills. $250 provides a senior with medications, ensuring their health and well-being. $500 covers a security deposit or a month of rental support to prevent homelessness. Do you want to help unlock stability for a family in Arlington this season? Please join me in donating here - https://lnkd.in/eWXwKEDM #UnlockStability #OneGiftOneFamily #ThriveTogether
