Every 3 months, I put myself ( and whoever wants to join in what I call 'trial') on new supplements. I pick what I am interested in based on what I learn, research and what is trending in the health, wellness, weight loss and longevity community. Of course, based on individual needs. As a 46 year old woman in good health, I can't put myself on 'drugs' because I don't have any health issues YET, and if you do, you should absolutely seek your doctor's advice. If you, however, like me, are interested in OPTIMIZING, PREVENTION, LIVING TO YOUR FULL HEALTH SPAN POTENTIAL, being in GREAT MOOD, SHAPE, HAVE LOTS OF ENERGY BUT LITTLE PAIN, you might NOT want to miss out on the many benefits supplements can offer. That being said, SUPPLEMENTS ARE A BRIDGE BETWEEN HEALTH & DISEASES. THEY can also have THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS if used MINDFULLY. You can use them for a specific amount of time to get the therapeutic effect and stop to ease anxiety, improve sleep, curb your appetite, populate or repopulate your gut, improve your skin, immunity. The sky is the limit! I have learned a lot about them from people started than me and doctors and scientists in health and even supplements coaching programs. Supplements ARE definitely not regulated in the way medications are, so your best bet is to purchase them from places that are third party certified. I purchase mine through my professional Fullscript account. You can use my link to get access to Fullscript yourself. Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/g6ZYhQ_c I can send you one of many protocols designed by functional medicine doctors or one of the two I am talking about in this post. October 1, with a group of 8 other people, I started taking 4 different supplements TO HELP US LOSE FAT & IMPROVE FACIAL AGING (something you could see with a naked eye 😉) but there are so many other benefits as well since 2 of them were probiotics, one - very potent anti-oxidant and another a blend of amino acids and collagen. As a result, I did lose weight ( I personally did not want to. I was only interested in the facial aging part 😄, but I wanted to be a part of the "trial" with others, so I started all the supplements like everyone else). One lady lost 10 pounds. Another one said she had for the first time in many years been able to weigh under 150. It has not even been 3 months. There were also other benefits. For example, slight knee pain and hip I wanted to get checked out with an MRI completely disappeared. I did not expect it. Maybe it was a coincidence but there is data behind it. 1/1/25, I am starting NEW "TRIAL" WITH 3 NEW SUPPLEMENTS to see if they will help me and other participants: SLEEP BETTER, LOOK BETTER & FEEL BETTER. The two supplements are designed for women with fluctuating hormones ( sleep & skin in particular) 👠♀️I'll DM you information. The more the merrier! #supplements #healthandwellness

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is an essential vitamin that your body needs but cannot produce on its own. It plays several crucial roles in your body, and taking it as a supplement can have numerous health benefits: Energy Production: Vitamin B12 is vital for metabolic processes. It helps convert the food you eat (fats, carbohydrates, and proteins) into glucose, which is used as energy. This boosts your overall energy levels, helping you stay active throughout the day. Healthy Nerve Function: Vitamin B12 is essential in the maintenance of myelin, a protective coating around your nerves. This ensures that your nervous system functions efficiently. Adequate levels of B12 can help prevent nerve damage and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. Red Blood Cell Formation: B12 helps in the production of red blood cells. These cells are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout your body. Adequate oxygen levels can enhance your stamina and reduce feelings of fatigue and weakness. DNA Synthesis: Vitamin B12 is necessary for the synthesis of DNA, the genetic material in all cells. This is crucial for cell division and growth, especially in tissues where cells are frequently renewed, such as the gut and skin. Health Benefits of NVU Empowered™ Incorporating NVU Empowered™ into your routine can yield several health benefits: 1. Sustained Energy Levels: Unlike caffeine or sugar, which offer a short-term energy spike followed by a crash, NVU Empowered™ provides a steady release of energy. This helps in maintaining consistent energy levels throughout the day. 2. Effective Metabolism: By enhancing metabolic processes, NVU Empowered™ aids in the efficient conversion of macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates, and proteins) into usable energy. This not only fuels your body but also supports weight management. 3. Nervous System Support: The product's support for nerve health can help improve cognitive functions, reduce the risk of neurological disorders, and maintain overall nervous system health. 4. Reduced Fatigue: By improving red blood cell production and oxygen transport, NVU Empowered™ can help reduce feelings of tiredness and lethargy. 5. Enhanced Mental Clarity and Focus: With better nerve function and metabolic support, users might experience improved concentration, mental clarity, and overall cognitive performance. How NVU Empowered™ Helps You Power Through the Day By ensuring your body efficiently converts food into energy, NVU Empowered™ can make a significant difference in your daily life. Whether you're a student needing to stay focused during long study sessions, a professional navigating a busy workday, or an athlete looking to optimize performance, this supplement can help you maintain the energy and mental clarity you need to excel. In summary, NVU Empowered™ with Vitamin B12-500 offers a natural, sustained energy boost while supporting critical bodily functions like metabolism and nerve health. #NVISIONU

Can Vitamin D Brighten Your Mood 🌞 Vitamin D has been touted as a health hero, but the research has been all over the place. Some studies say it helps; others aren’t so sure. Now, a new meta-analysis suggests that vitamin D supplementation might offer some surprising mental health benefits for certain people. A review of 31 studies and more than 24,000 participants found that Vitamin D might help boost mood and fight against depression. Vitamin D supplementation led to a small but significant reduction in depressive symptoms, with stronger effects observed in those with vitamin D deficiency. The impact was dose-dependent, meaning higher doses (within safe limits) yielded better results. For every 1,000 IU of Vitamin D — in people both with and without depression — appeared to reduce depressive symptoms slightly. But, the effect was more significant for those who suffered from Vitamin D deficiency and more prominent in those who struggled with depression. Interestingly, the most significant reduction occurred at 8,000 IU per day — but that might be too high if you’re not deficient. Also, Vitamin D supplementation for less than 24 weeks was more effective than longer than 24 weeks, suggesting that supporting Vitamin D deficiency is more a short-term solution than a longer-term approach to depression. It’s worth mentioning that supplementation was more effective when paired with traditional treatments like therapy or antidepressants rather than a standalone fix. However most experts in this area suggest, that in the UK winter months , Vit D is a recommended supplement mainly due to our dark, short days limited sun exposure. Government advice currently recommends everyone to take a daily 10mcg vitamin D supplement from October to March to support your health. As a result of increasing your vitamin D intake, you should notice a host of improvements to your mood, immune system and bone health - according to British Nutrition Foundation

Investigating supplements for brain health and memory After an extensive survey of products on the market (on sale at Amazon, Whole Foods, and CVS), the authors developed a long list of memory supplements (103 items). The most common ingredients in these products were identified and reviewed. Each product on the list contained at least one of 18 ingredients. These are listed (and briefly described) below. 1. Apoaequorin: Apoaequorin is a calcium-binding protein found in certain jellyfish. It is available as the supplement Prevagen. Unfortunately, there is limited clinical research on it, aside from the information provided by Prevagen’s manufacturer. 2. Ashwagandha: Also known as Withania somnifera or winter cherry, this herb is commonly used in traditional Indian medicine. Ashwagandha has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties. Some evidence from India suggests it may improve cognition in both healthy adults and those with mild cognitive impairment. 3. Carnitine: Derived from an amino acid, carnitine plays a major role in energy metabolism and production. Systematic reviews have found insufficient evidence to recommend carnitine supplementation in people with cognitive decline. 4. Choline: Considered an essential nutrient, choline has many functions, particularly the regulation of memory. Choline supplementation appears to improve memory in healthy adults, people with subjective memory complaints, and those with dementia.

Vitamin D, often referred to as the "sunshine vitamin," plays a crucial role in maintaining our health and well-being. While it's commonly associated with bone health, its benefits extend far beyond that. In this blog post, we'll explore the various benefits of vitamin D and why it's essential to ensure adequate levels of this vital nutrient. 1) Supports Bone Health: Vitamin D is well-known for its role in calcium absorption, which is essential for building and maintaining strong bones. Adequate vitamin D levels help prevent conditions like osteoporosis and reduce the risk of fractures, especially in older adults. 2) Boosts Immune Function: Research suggests that vitamin D plays a significant role in supporting immune function. It helps regulate the immune system's response to pathogens, reducing the risk of infections and autoimmune diseases. Adequate vitamin D levels are particularly important during cold and flu season when immune function may be compromised. 3) Improves Mood and Mental Health: Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to mood disorders like depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Sunlight exposure, which stimulates vitamin D production in the skin, is known to uplift mood and improve overall mental well-being. Supplementing with vitamin D or increasing sun exposure may help alleviate symptoms of depression and enhance mood. 4) Supports Heart Health: Vitamin D may play a role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Studies have shown that adequate vitamin D levels are associated with lower blood pressure, reduced risk of heart attacks and strokes, and improved overall heart health. Vitamin D helps regulate blood vessel function and inflammation, contributing to a healthy cardiovascular system. 5) Enhances Muscle Strength: Vitamin D is essential for muscle health and strength. Adequate levels of vitamin D support muscle function, coordination, and balance, reducing the risk of falls and fractures, especially in older adults. Additionally, vitamin D deficiency has been linked to muscle weakness and increased risk of falls. Vitamin D is a crucial nutrient that offers a wide range of health benefits beyond bone health. From supporting immune function and heart health to improving mood and muscle strength, adequate vitamin D levels are essential for overall health and well-being. Whether through sunlight exposure, dietary sources, or supplements, ensuring sufficient vitamin D intake is key to optimizing health.

🔬 Understanding Oestrogen Metabolism: 2-OH, 4-OH, 16-OH & The Power of Phase 2 Detox 🔬 Oestrogen plays a vital role in your body, but did you know that how you metabolise it can impact your health? Here’s a breakdown of key oestrogen metabolites and how your body detoxifies them: 🌟 Phase 1 Oestrogen Metabolites: The Big 3 2-OH (2-Hydroxyestrone): Known as the "good" oestrogen, it’s protective and less likely to promote cell growth. 4-OH (4-Hydroxyestrone): A "bad" estrogen, it can be more reactive and potentially harmful if not detoxified properly. 16-OH (16-Hydroxyestrone): Another metabolite with mixed effects—it promotes cell growth, which is essential in some cases but risky if unbalanced. 🔄 Phase 2 Detoxification: The Cleanup Crew Once oestrogen is broken down into these metabolites, your body’s Phase 2 detox pathways kick in to neutralise and eliminate them: Methylation: Adds a methyl group to oestrogen metabolites like 2-OH and 4-OH, making them less reactive and easier to excrete. A balanced methylation process is crucial for reducing the risk of harmful estrogen buildup. Glutathione Conjugation: Glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant, binds to toxic estrogen metabolites, particularly 4-OH, rendering them harmless. This is vital for preventing DNA damage and supporting overall hormonal balance. 💡 Why It Matters: Balanced Metabolism: Ensuring a healthy balance of these metabolites can lower the risk of oestrogen-related conditions, including certain cancers. Optimised Detox: Supporting Phase 2 pathways through diet, supplements, and lifestyle can enhance your body’s ability to safely eliminate oestrogen metabolites. 🛠 Take Control: Focus on nutrient-rich foods, adequate B vitamins (for methylation), and antioxidants (like glutathione) to support your body’s oestrogen metabolism and detox processes. 🧠 Test: Do a Dried urine hormone metabolite test along with a DNA test to check for SNP's in Methylation (COMT and MTHFR) and Glutathione (GST). Knowledge is power when it comes to hormonal health! 🌿 #HormoneHealth #EstrogenMetabolism #OestrogenMetabolism #Detox #Methylation #Glutathione #WellnessJourney

Importance of Diet in Fibromyalgia Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic disorder marked by widespread musculoskeletal pain, tenderness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairments, and other symptoms such as anxiety and depression. It affects more women than men, with a prevalence rate of about 2.5% of the population, particularly between the ages of 20 to 55. Although the exact cause of FM is unknown, it is believed to be linked to dysfunction in pain regulation and central sensitization, without any clear inflammation of muscles, ligaments, or tendons. Diet plays an important role in managing FM symptoms, as it can influence inflammation, pain perception, and overall well-being. Several dietary interventions have shown promise in alleviating FM symptoms: 1. Low FODMAP Diet 2. Gluten-Free Diet 3. Vitamins and Nutrients 4. Anti-inflammatory Plant-Based Diet 5. Mediterranean Diet 6. Probiotics and Gut Health 7. Weight Loss and Hypocaloric Diet 8. Exercise and Diet Synergy A combination of regular low-impact exercise (such as walking, swimming, or cycling) and a balanced diet has been shown to improve fitness, reduce pain, and increase the ability to perform daily tasks in FM patients. Exercise, in particular, can increase endorphins and serotonin, which help regulate pain perception and mood. 9. Avoiding Harmful Foods Certain foods and ingredients, such as high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, MSG, and glutamate, should be avoided, as they may exacerbate FM symptoms. 10. Additional Interventions In addition to diet, patients may benefit from other complementary therapies, such as acupuncture, massage, pranayam and soft tissue manipulation. Sun exposure for 10-15 minutes daily or phototherapy may also help with vitamin D production and mood regulation. Conclusion Diet plays a crucial role in managing fibromyalgia symptoms. By adopting an anti-inflammatory, nutrient-rich diet, along with appropriate supplements, exercise, and lifestyle modifications, individuals with FM can significantly improve their quality of life. It's important to tailor dietary interventions to each individual's specific needs and sensitivities to achieve the best results.
