I just designed this map of the world's oceans using the SPILHAUS Projection in ArcGIS Pro. This unique projection minimizes distortion in shapes and presents a continuous view of our interconnected world water system, making it perfect for showcasing the vastness and unity of the global ocean. #cartography #SpilhausProjection #ArcGISPro

#30DayMapChallenge | Day 10: Pen & Paper This was our first map assignment in my Advanced Cartography class at the University of Montana. Our professor had us draw a map by hand to get us thinking critically about all map elements of design. I chose my favorite climbing area 😊 Tech Tip: Don’t label your legend “Legend”! #gis #cartography #MakingMapsPretty #geospatial #TechTip

How about we visualise Africa's population using Cartograms? The cartogram was generated in R, and the final map design was made in ArcGIS Pro. #r #acrgis #cartography #africa

Here is another world map I created based on John Nelson's vintage map but with a twist. I like how South America looks like it connects with Antartica due to how the bathymetry data is rendered. Anyone else like the backlit look? #arcgispro, #mapart, #worldmap, #maps, #cartography

I created this map from Heather Smith's tutorial, which focused on visualizing Arctic Sea ice decline. Throughout the process, I gained a deeper understanding of symbology, labeling, and layout design, which helped enhance the map's clarity and impact. https://lnkd.in/g8rSvy5f #gis #geospatial #cartography #mapping #SpatialData

Hello LinkedIn community Feedback please🗺️ As part of my master thesis, I have to prepare some maps, out of which this one is the study area and elevation map. Since I am an amateur cartographer, I was wondering if this kind of map can be used for publication or research purposes. I would really appreciate your feedback on this. #cartography #mapping #QGIS

Thanks John Nelson for another tutorial on smashing neatlines! I think mine is rough around the edges but visually interesting, and it was good exercise to use gridlines to line up two maps. Another technique for the toolbox. Pictured: the full Kitsap Peninsula, where I live. If I were to put more time into this I'd make it look like the Puget Sound was "spilling" over the edges of the map. I'd also add a locator map, some visual hierarchy for the labels, and exclude some areas in the lower right and left. #gis #gismapping #cartography #mapping #maps #pugetsound #kitsapcounty #kitsap #pacificnorthwest #pnwonderland #geospatial

Excited to share this map on "Rivers across the World"! The classification of the rivers is done based on the Strahler system of river classification where the stream order increases when streams of the same order intersect.
