Have you seen that Huda Beauty are having a rebrand? Their brand founder, Huda Kattan, has revealed a total company rebrand, as well as stepping down as CEO, in a YouTube video. I'm a bit gutted as they're going to be discontinuing Glowish as part of the rebrand and shakeup, who make one of my fave tinted moisturisers ever - but hey, it's not all about me 😅 I'm also not 100% sold on the new logo, but again decisions have been made for reasons. However I'm loving the little peek behind the curtain into the decisions that beauty brands make, and why they make them. I think this is why some of the newer beauty brands that are smashing it on TikTok are thriving - they share every little part of the behind the scenes journey and I think people love to see it. 💓 🤳 Watch the video about the rebrand (part of an upcoming series) here: https://lnkd.in/eZRvVFG4 📰 More info about the rebrand on Cosmetics Business here: https://lnkd.in/e4m9CUM7. 👀 I also wrote a piece on whether it's time to refresh your beauty brand on my beauty marketing blog, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/eQy2HXAt What do you think of the rebrand and of founders sharing their journey like this? 🤔 #beautynews #beautyindustry #beauty #makeup #beautyfounder #rebrand #beautybusiness #marketing #hudabeauty
HUDA BEAUTY: THE REBRAND

IMPO, it was very much needed. Some years ago they were hot, you saw them all over the place, and people were going nuts over their products. Then suddenly things went super quiet for them. Not sure why. But, a rebrand is the best way to ignite things back up for them. I hope it goes great for them!
For me its a great move. Brands need to ride the generational wave, and refresh their statement regularly
Are they catering to gen alpha? The new logo looks very youthful and juvenile compared to the sleek and expensive original
Amazing, love the story behind this brand and Huda's career journey. Will definitely check out the video.
I really appreciate Huda Kattan taking the time to openly share the struggles and the rebrand decisions. Transparency like this helps their loyal customers feel included in the process, even when there are changes we're sad to see. Sharing the journey, not just the final destination, helps maintain that strong connection even as the brand evolves
Thanks for sharing

5moA rebrand is a great way to usher in the change in leadership and refresh as they market to a younger demo, but I have to admit I don't like the new logo. The font they chose is difficult to read and "Huda" just doesn't stand out. As long as the brand keeps making their 9 and 15-pan eyeshadow palettes that I absolutely adore, I'll look past the logo and continue to buy at Sephora.
