What principles guide your company's direction? Are they good? Are they bad? At Garrett, we paused in 2022 after our last founder passed away to reflect on our history and our values and we codified the results in what we call our "Four Pillars". Garrett's Four Pillars are both historical and aspirational. They are the principles that we intend to retain and strengthen as we make decisions to guide our future. Over the next four weeks, I'll share our Pillars with you. #GarrettCares #Garrett4Pillars

I am, and each of the other 8,999 Flenderans are, immensely proud to work for a company with such #pedigree, #knowledge, #wisdom and #passion for moving the world. Starting with a humble wooden pulley, Flender moved forward with developing #couplings, #industrial #gearboxes (including the infamous FZG range) and the Winergy series of #Wind #Turbine gearboxes. This great history in understanding how to provide a reliable solution to our customers has resulted in gearboxes that continue to ensure a high level of uptime and #availability, in some of the most arduous applications. Over 125 years of designing #gears and couplings gives a solid foundation for the new generation of gearboxes, with the Flender One range leading the charge for the next 125 years and beyond incorporating integrated condition monitoring, higher efficiencies, and a simplified design process! Flender. We Move the World. #Wemovetheworld #Flender #FlenderOne #AIQ #ConditionMonitoring #Metaperform
125 years of Flender – we are celebrating! The anniversary flags are already up at the Alfred-Flender-Street in Bocholt, Germany, our hometown and headquarter. Traditions and our achievements are important to us. But we are set on the future. Each and every one of our 9000 Flenderans worldwide is. The driving force behind our progress is the uncompromising will to find solutions that others cannot. 125 years of Flender also means 125 years of future. The Future Is Blue. #Flender #F125 #WeMoveTheWorld #StrongerTogether

A great look, even 10 years ago, at how parking alters the urban environment -- not for the better -- and also how #parkingreform can reverse the effects #transportation #urbanism #urbanplanning
It's nearly the 10th anniversary of my "Parking Craters: Scourge of American Downtowns" which helped further amplify Angie Schmitt's invention of that term for Streetsblog's once national tourney 😀. I just took a look at it and a strange thing hit me: I believe that three of the four cities that we looked at now how have reduced a chunk of the parking craters I used in the films. It might be cool to do an updated version of this (or just look at the worst cities now!) Featuring Norman Garrick Angie Schmitt Patrick Kennedy

It's been a busy year for us so far at PINK! Over the past 12 months, we've turned a disused office space into a thriving creative hub. From completing large-scale renovations, securing another floor (with a potential third to follow!), to achieving a full premises licence and a stable financial model, the journey has been incredible. As we know, Manchester’s once-thriving artist-led scene has faced significant adversity in recent years. Rising property development, inflated building and rental costs, and dwindling funding opportunities have collectively eroded the foundation of this vital cultural ecosystem. As spaces for artists to create and exhibit have become increasingly scarce, the resilience of Manchester's creative community has been put to the test. PINK has acted in direct response to these challenges. For the last 6 months, we have been opening our doors to the different people and projects that make up our creative community; testing an open-source space hire model that can become part of PINK’s attempt at self-sustaining. This has all been part of a wider fundraising and development strategy that has been fermenting in the background. And by that, we mean that we have been RELENTLESSLY applying for funding from every corner of the region, UK, and beyond. Turning over every possible financial stone to raise the level of funding needed to match our ambitions. This hard work is starting to pay off. We are delighted to have received news of support for 2025 from the Haworth Trust and the Henry Moore Foundation, supporting the development and delivery of 4 solo presentations by local and national artists - one being our very own, Pippa Eason! These grants are a crucial part of our ambitious plan for 2025-2027 and will enable us to produce an innovative 2-year programme driven by the question: What could an artist-led future look like? Anchored in themes of support, growth, creative development, empowerment, and resilience, PINK will empower artists with the space and resources to innovate, think critically, and envision a bold artistic future. The next few months look like MORE application and results deadlines… but we're ready for it!
The space at PINK has seen quite the tranformation since last year! And I’m very excited to produce a solo body of work kindly supported by Haworth Trust. Another huge thank you to Katy for her ongoing support.

Those who know me know that my love for the San Francisco 49ers isn't just a hobby, it's a family legacy! 🏈 This weekend, despite the loss, was another chapter in our tradition of cheering, shouting, and yes, sometimes sighing, alongside our favorite team. Passing down this ritual to my daughter means teaching her about more than just football; it’s about resilience, loyalty, and the art of seeing a game through, no matter the score. At Orange Grove Creative Co., we channel that same die-hard energy into every project. Whether we're facing down a tight deadline or brainstorming a game-changing campaign, we bring the spirit of a fourth-quarter comeback to our work. So, how do you blend passion and tradition into your professional endeavors? Drop a comment below—we might just have more in common than our favorite teams! #49ersFaithful #TeamTraditions #MarketingInnovation #ResilienceInAction #CreativeLeadership #OrangeGroveCreativeCo

I’m the first customer for the new batch of Stardust at Duluth Cider. I came in before opening to talk over some planning details and I heard about how the employee behind this started his training with cleaning tasks, then Kyle McKean got him getting involved in the packaging before this fine individual started sharing flavors he thought sounded good and sharing an interest in production. Tara Norstegard, his supervisor, shared that he is very much enjoyed by the staff and the “best employee we have”. I was very visibly moved. I didn’t expect to be that affected by kindness. It is often a difficult and frustrating path for many disabled individuals, including neurodivergent ones, to maintain consistent employment or find it in the first place. There is also the added arduous task of trying to obtain the feeling of being “one of the guys”….feeling a little less “less than” and more “your difference isn’t a hindrance, it’s a talent that pushes the rest of us forward”. We often take for granted the journey it takes to find the things that make us feel whole, settled, or having purpose, and just how long it can take to some to get there. Or even the depth of joy that exists to see anyone get there at all. The bravest act an ally can do is to love. The second greatest, in my opinion, is to give space for a chance. A local business just showed in practice that someone from an often overlooked community was worth investing in, hearing from and deserving of the dignity of hard work. That individual is now going to bring in revenue with a quality product. This is just one step in the facet of how representation and the inclusion of expanding employment can lead to economic development. Duluth is doing some very brave work even in the midst of heaviness: a stardust, if you will, in the dark night.
