With the launch of China Crossroads TV, Frank Tsai only hosts “China experts on-the-ground in Shanghai.” These will be among the hundreds of past speakers he has hosted at China Crossroads -- Shanghai’s largest platform of public lectures. Each interview is recorded in Shanghai, and he only host guests with substantial experience in China. The first interview is with Han Shen Lin of The Asia Group and NYU Shanghai, and coming interviews include Dan Wang, Chief Economist at the Han Sheng Bank, Ian Anderson, (now retired) Sr executive for MNCs, Gabor Holch, executive coach, Peter Bøgh Hansen, China Political Director for the Danish Industry and Mikael H. Winther, Consul General of Denmark. Thank you to my good friend Frank for asking me to be his co-host for the first recordings on a grey Saturday Shanghai afternoon, a few weeks ago. I of course love to ask questions to all these experts:) And learn from them too. I think the channel is very necessary now as global media commentary on China severely lacks experts actually living in China. This results in biased opinions, confirmation bias, and very skewed, subjective views. Lots of propaganda also from every side now, whereas the 'truth' is always somewhere in between. Let's hope the channel can provide some different views. #china | #internationalrelations | #uschina | #chinabusiness | #europechina

Great, balanced and insightful discussion. Including this particularly well-observed point from Mihai S.: “the costs for Australia to enjoy its current level of access and influence and presence will continue to increase. Canberra might think that Australia’s never done more for the Pacific, and that may be true…but the value of that sovereignty, and the value of those relationships will continue to skyrocket faster even than Sydney’s real estate prices.”
WATCH LIVE: Our panel discussion on Australia's competition with China for influence in the Pacific starts at 12:30pm AEST today. The panel features Pacific and China analysts, including Richard McGregor, Oliver Nobetau, Mihai S. and Anna Powles, and will be moderated by Herve Lemahieu. 👇 Tune in! https://lnkd.in/gbZYWHnx
