➡️ $10 buys a gift card that we raffle off at the end of every scholar meeting to show our students that we appreciate their time ➡️ $50 covers one college scholar’s enrollment in UtmostU, our college success network that provides summer school stipends, cell phone plans, mental health counseling, and more ➡️ $100 covers one hour of academic tutoring so our scholars can lay a strong foundation for their college careers ➡️ $250 allows one scholar to attend our slate of summer college tours (including transportation, lunch, and snacks!) ➡️ $500 underwrites the cost of enrollment, housing, and orientation deposits for a scholar, “hidden” costs of going to college that can stand a scholars’ way ➡️ $1000 allows us to host an additional in-person event, like our fall Application Submission Workshop where scholars submit their family’s first-ever college application When you give to Green Halo, every dollar is accounted for and goes directly to the incredible young people we support. Today marks the beginning of the long anticipated 1847 campaign for YesLiberia, Inc. The team has worked tirelessly to develop and plan for this. When I first started working with this non-profit, I was amazed about what I didn't know about Liberia. The history is rich and intriguing. Here is a quick history lesson 😉 1847 is the year that Liberia was emboldened to take it's freedom. Liberia, founded in 1822, was originally an outpost for returning free slaves from America. It wasn't until 25 years later that Liberians felt empowered to claim its independence. That feeling of empowerment from 1847 still remains today. And YesLiberia is a main player in keeping that feeling alive! They offer access to education and leadership development to children who would otherwise be forgotten.
