We are excited to introduce the upcoming "Extending the Rafters" Gift Box from Kebaonish Inc. This unique Gift Box was crafted by Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte artist Melissa Brant in collaboration with Rye Karonhiowanen Barberstock, PhD. Together, they have created a meaningful Unity Box for Kebaonish Inc., inspired by the Haudenosaunee concept of "Extending the Rafters." Melissa will share the inspiration and symbolism behind the design, with a focus on Mother Earth and themes of peace, love, and unity defined by nature. Rye explains “The design reflects the wisdom of our ancestors, reminding us that we are all interconnected as we extend the rafters to embrace oneness and harmony.” Michael Carrick facilitated the final graphic design, bringing the vision to life. This new addition will complement our existing Unity Box, designed by Cree artist Jaylene Cardinal. Our goal in introducing this box is to offer a "promotional" gift that corporations can use to demonstrate their commitment to economic reconciliation. For larger orders, companies will have the option to include a 5"x5" custom-designed sticker on the box, symbolizing their support for economic reconciliation and promoting inclusivity. The box itself serves as a powerful symbol of honouring place and making space for everyone—Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike—to be among kin and friends at the community table. If you’re interested in pre-ordering or learning more, DM us or reach out to hello@proudlyIndigenous.com. #GIFTBOX #INDIGENOUSWISDOM #COMMUNITY #INDIGENOUSBUSINESS #KEBAONISH #GIFTBOXIDEAS #PROMOTIONALBOXES #PROMOTIONALIDEAS

Alright, yo! Let's take a breather from the hustle and grind for a sec. Ever felt like your walls are talking to you? Well, mine do, through art. I'm a HUGE fan, and it's time to share some of the cool pieces hanging around my place, along with the stories and the incredible artists behind them. I'm hoping it'll be a refreshing break from the usual business chatter on here. . First up is "Sunflowers" by Jeremy Treece, an acrylic masterpiece that just lights up any room. Jeremy has illustrated projects for DC, Marvel, and Dark Horse Comics, and he also crafts his own indie comics under Crisishour. I stumbled upon his work online and was hooked—his style brings me back to the edgy vibes of JTHM by Jhonen C. Vasquez (y'all know Invader Zim, right?). Fun tidbit: Jeremy is autistic and pretty big on inclusion and mental health. His piece was auctioned for Factory Two, a non-profit makerspace in Flint, MI. They were live streaming on Facebook at the auction and I was able to snatch it up. I later connected him with a barrier-free park project in Macomb County, highlighting the power of diverse voices. . Why art, you ask? Because creativity fuels innovation, and interpreting art can sharpen those problem-solving skills we all need in the biz world. So, let’s make this interactive: - What do you see in "Sunflowers"? - How does it hit you? - Drop your thoughts below and let’s start a convo. Remember, embracing art isn't just about appreciation; it's about building bridges and connecting over shared experiences. Looking forward to your takes! 🌻💀🌻 Stay creative. Stay inspired. Stay awesome!

What is the role of the artist? James Baldwin said, "The role of the artist is exactly the same as the role of the lover. If I love you, I have to make you conscious of the things you don’t see." Or similarly, as Rick Rubin suggests, "Art is our portal to the unseen world.” Artists illuminate our interiors and bring forth that which we haven't known, or haven't known how to articulate. They have risked their heart and soul, and they are in service to the art. In today's market, brands are art, and artists are brands. This raises the question, is it art if it is made for the consumer? This exchange informs the art and blurs the artist's intent. In this relationship, the artist needs to be protected—they need boundaries for the abundance of expression. If we look at Rick Rubin's artist priorities, "Inspiration comes first. You come next. The audience comes last.” With this order in mind, the artist in service to a brand has their priorities inverted. Art is made through the channel that is your expression, only as you can share it, only yours throughout all space and time, and made for art's sake. Let's practice uplifting the artist in each of us and in our society at large. Make art a priority. Recognize that it has been the lifeblood of our communities, culture, and commerce for all of history. Here are our antidotes for the artist within and those all around us. https://lnkd.in/ensT3WRi

Our friends at B Local Vancouver wonderfully captured the essence of the Champions Retreat! ✨ One of the most valuable lessons we learned during the retreat was that every business founder faces challenges. As a community, we're now asking one important question: ↳𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁? P.S. Let's collaborate to drive meaningful change in our businesses and communities! #BusinessForGood #BCorp #ChampionsRetreat2024
Some day two highlights are here! We gathered and experienced a beautiful welcome to the unceded and ancestral territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking Peoples, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We collaborated, we heard inspiring stories, we stopped for photos at the B Hive booth, we restored with a soundbath, we met awesome people at the B Corp Marketplace, and we watched creators bring art to life in the Indigenous Makers Market. What a beautiful day! 👀 What was your favourite part of Day 2?
