Camping and outdoor hospitality continues to grow. Camping households have increased by 23% over the past decade, amounting to 16.5 million additional households who identify as campers. Meanwhile, the number of active camping households (camped in the past year) has surged 68%, adding up to a whopping 21.6 million additional households. This uptick in camping interest was further evidenced by the dramatic growth in households who venture out three or more times (98%). Demographically, campers have become younger (close to half of campers since 2022 are under the age of 35, compared to 30% in 2014) and more diverse compared to 10 years ago (39% of campers are nonwhite versus 23% 10 years ago).
