Eid Mubarak! Today is Eid al-Fitr, which means "the feast, or festival, of breaking the fast. In the U.S., where Muslims make up an ethnically and racially diverse minority, many come together for Eid prayers and for festivals featuring fun activities for children and families. These often include such things as face painting and balloon twisting." Learn more at https://buff.ly/4aJdBUc. #Eid Eid2024

It's all about the story... The story behind something is what adds depth and life to it, whether that be the antique writing desk handed down through generations, or the well worn leather jacket your dad purchased in the 70's from Camden Market. These stories add soul, and that's one of the reasons I love where I work - the story. Not just the Sofas & Stuff story, but the story, thought, and inspiration behind every piece and collection. With the latest V&A collaboration being rich in history - not just beautiful fabrics, but history woven into each design.
Delve further into the fascinating stories behind our new Threads of India collection with our founder, Andrew Cussins, in conversation with Amelia Calver, Brand Licensing Research and Development Manager at the Victoria and Albert Museum. #victoriaandalbertmuseum #threadsofindia #indiantextiles #handmadeinbritain

Breaking the Cycle: Overcoming Poverty, Homelessness, and Substance Abuse In our community, the challenges of poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse often intertwine, creating a complex web that can feel impossible to escape. But every individual deserves a chance at a better life, and together, we can make a difference. Hand in Hand: It’s crucial to recognize that overcoming these challenges requires more than just individual effort. It takes a supportive community willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. Understanding the Connections: Poverty can lead to homelessness, which in turn can fuel substance abuse as a coping mechanism. Breaking free from this cycle requires addressing the root causes and providing comprehensive support. Providing Stability: Access to stable housing, healthcare, and education is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness. By ensuring these basic needs are met, we can empower individuals to rebuild their lives. Building Support Systems: Recovery from substance abuse requires not only professional treatment but also strong support systems and a sense of belonging. Let’s foster communities where individuals feel supported on their journey to recovery. Creating Change: It’s time to come together as a community to break down stigma, increase access to resources, and advocate for policies that support those facing poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse. Together, we can be the catalyst for change and create a brighter future for all. Help us extend a hand to those in need and build a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #citizensinn #BreakingTheCycle #CommunitySupport #EndStigma
