I've been actively job hunting for several months now (wow it's tough out here!) and there are some things I keep coming across in many listings. So with all due respect to anyone on the hiring side viewing my profile, please: Post your salary range in your job posting. Let's be sure we're on the same page from the beginning. If you ask me for salary expectations, I should know what your range is from the start so I can decide how flexible I can be in this area. If you're comfortable with what you are offering, post it. If you're not comfortable posting it, then you may want to reassess why before engaging prospective applicants. Deliberately leaving it out feels like a "gotcha" and is not a great way to begin a conversation. Hybrid and Remote are not interchangeable. If you offer a Hybrid work model, please do not list the job offering as Remote. A Remote position should not require I live close to the company headquarters. It's frustrating to create job alerts and come across a great remote listing only to find in the description that it's actually Hybrid on the other side of the country. It should also go without saying that if your job is On Site do not list it as Hybrid or Remote. That should be a given and yet I come across countless listings that state at the top Hybrid or Remote and then the details say job is onsite. Lastly, regarding Hybrid and Remote if the listing is Hybrid or Remote "eligible" that is also not the same as Hybrid or Remote. The location of the job should be known at the outset, not a mystery to be revealed at a later date. Please stop requiring job seekers to fill out applications asking for the same information that is on our resume. I can't decide if this is a throwback and is being asked because it's always been done or if I am duplicating the information so a non human can assess my value. Either way, I am no longer rewriting job history that can be found on my attached resume. Don't think of this as being non compliant but instead take it as a demonstration of my efficiency and ability to streamline processes. 😉 If you've read this far and you've got a supply chain or logistics position that matches my skills and is truly Remote, I'd love to hear from you! And a huge thank you to all of the companies and recruiters including these details in their listings. I appreciate you, even if I don't hear from you.

What does a remote recruitment process actually look like? 🤔 Many of us have a certain image of a traditional job interview stuck in our heads: Two recruiters sitting behind a table in an office with the candidate right in front of them. The latter one is stressed out and nervous, trying to answer the recruiters' questions in the best way possible. Most people cringe immediately when they think about their first job interview. Do you remember yours? 😟 While remote work may not be able to take the stress out of the equation completely, it can certainly streamline and simplify many aspects of recruitment. Obviously, only if you do it the right way. Where does a remote recruitment process come from? It isn’t by any means a completely new thing. Online recruitment forms to be filled out by candidates, sending CVs by e-mail, or conducting first rounds of interviews by phone were and still are standard practice. Being invited to the meeting in the office usually means that we are nearing the end of the recruitment process. Of course, it varies depending on the type of position we are applying for, but at least one interview conducted face-to-face is usually necessary. 👨👩👧👦 Anyway, what about all those remote-first companies out there? In this case, it’s obvious that there will be no in-office meeting as such a place simply doesn’t exist. That is exactly where remote recruitment steps in. Recruiting candidates without physical contact or face-to-face meetings has become quite common within the past few years. Consequently, we can implement a plethora of tools and tricks to make the process significantly easier.⚒️ Read about the tools to hire remotely in my informative blog. https://lnkd.in/diF66RUc #remotework #hybridwork #futureofwork #remoteworking

100% remote roles in Recruitment. Are they still a thing in Australia? I would be asked about 10 times a week about 100% remote opportunities in the Australian Recruitment industry. Most of these enquires come from Australian based recruiters looking to be based out of remote regions of Australia or out of Asia. Places like Bali or Thailand. Are they out there....Yes. They are very rare though. Even then, I'd say it's more a case of an agency is probably not specifically looking for someone to be 100% remote - but they would be open to the idea of it for someone with a niche skill set. When I say niche skill set I am talking very very specialised. So specialised that for that agency they don't really have the luxury to say no to a person because their talent pool of experienced recruiters in that space is so niche. Here a few other factors: Performance - Perhaps you have been working in an agency and you have billed $500-600K. Now you want to work remote. It is risky for an agency to think that with these changes you are going to maintain the same billings. Setting Precedent - If one person is offered a chance to work remotely then it is likely others will want to follow suit. That can cause issues for an agency owner/manager. Cost - Hiring recruiters offshore is becoming more and more common in the Australian Recruitment industry. You can hire a recruiter with 10 years experience based overseas who has recruited in the Australian market. That recruiter will come at a cost probably about 70% less than a local recruiter with 2/3 years recruitment experience. Like a said a lot has to align for an agency to be open to this. If you already work for an agency and pitch this idea, you probably have more of a chance of getting this across the line. With agencies looking to get people in more often, I only see the fully remote roles becoming more rare. What do you think? 🤔
