"Every night you make somebody's day." - The Bear S2E7 "Forks" This captivating episode of FX's The Bear is the ultimate example of customer obsession: Every second is an opportunity to delight. I loved it so much, I immediately hit replay and watched a second time (and gave my professional sommelier husband Michelin star restaurant flashbacks). 😂 Key takeaways: - A single interaction you have with a customer may be the only one you get. What do you want to leave them with? - When we're in the thick of it and relying on so many others to do our jobs, if we focus on the customer, we're all in service of the same goal. - The best leaders know there's no task that's beneath them. No matter the industry, it's a privilege to be the one customers choose to invest in and spend time with. Plus, give me an Olivia Colman monologue any day of the week. 😉 #customerobsession #unreasonablehospitality https://lnkd.in/d8BmWmqm

Can I recommend a good cocktail to you? It’s called teasing. A difficult blend to master, but it’s delicious, sophisticated and memorable. It’s like a whiskey sour. You take a bit of charm, sweetness, a pleasant manner. Then you a dash of whiskey- astringent, maybe dry. On its own, it might be too much. But with a bit of affection, it really does the trick. It doesn’t have to be about other people. It can also be a joke about yourself. It’s not risk free. It has to be the right blend, and practiced. And the moment needs to be right. But when it works… Best film example below.

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of "Widow Clicquot," a captivating film weaving elements that resonate deeply with themes we've been exploring at Carroll Consulting around purpose and passion. The film portrays the intriguing tale of François Clicquot and the indelible mark left by his wife, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, during the turbulent 1800s in the Champagne region of France. François, portrayed with heartfelt passion, dedicates his soul to his vineyards, serenading his beloved vines. It's his enduring love for viticulture that captivates Barbe-Nicole, transforming her into a spirited and resilient vintner, determined to chase perfection in every bottle. This movie brilliantly underscores how understanding what truly moves us, finding our true passion, can release unforeseen strength and fulfillment. In the context of recruitment and beyond, this story reminds us of the power of aligning with our passions. Like Nicole, who tirelessly refined her champagne method over years, people that connect with their true passions often excel naturally, finding joy even in the most demanding tasks. The film also tenderly addresses mental health through François' struggles, delivering poignant moments that remind us of the human aspects that are present in all areas of life and work. One line particularly struck me, where François, looking intently at Nicole, states, "I might be different, but it is you that will make the biggest difference." This line beautifully encapsulates the impact genuine encouragement and belief in someone can have. Although waiting for the general release in February seems like a stretch, "Widow Clicquot" is more than a film. It's a celebration of legacy, resilience, and the profound effects of finding and fostering what makes our hearts sing—a theme ever so relevant in today’s leadership and cultural discussions. Whether leading a team, forging a career path, or crafting the world's finest champagne, the journey towards finding and nurturing our passions can indeed lead to remarkable excellence and innovation. A highly recommended watch for anyone intrigued by history, personal growth, or the history of champagne! https://lnkd.in/gHncFqJ4 Carroll Consulting Group #Passion #Purpose #PassionatePeople #culturefit
