The three most powerful words you can say to someone are “I appreciate you.” These simple words can leave a lasting impact, yet in the hustle of daily life, we often forget to express just how much we value the people around us. I make it a point to remind my team regularly how much I appreciate them and their efforts. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible teams, but this one stands out as something truly special. They’ve tackled countless changes, challenges, and demanding times with grace. They collaborate seamlessly, respect one another, and always find ways to bring a little fun into the workday. While Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and show gratitude, let’s not save all our appreciation for just one day. Make it a habit to recognize and acknowledge those around you throughout the year. A little appreciation goes a long way! How do you show your appreciation? Share your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear them! Happy Thanksgiving! #gratitude #appreciation #teamwork

Celebrating Gratitude: Meaningful Ways to Thank Your Team This Thanksgiving 🍁 Thanksgiving is here and it’s the perfect time to reflect on gratitude—not just for the joys in our personal lives but also for the incredible people we work alongside every day. Your team’s dedication and resilience often go unnoticed amid deadlines and deliverables, but taking a moment to express appreciation can have a lasting impact. Here are a few ways to show genuine thankfulness to your team this holiday season: 1️⃣ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 A heartfelt, handwritten note can mean more than you might imagine. Taking a few minutes to acknowledge each team member’s unique contributions makes your appreciation personal and unforgettable. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 Use this season of reflection to highlight your team’s wins, big or small. Whether it’s a shoutout in a meeting or a fun “highlight reel” email, celebrating success fosters positivity and camaraderie. 3️⃣ 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 Thankfulness can go beyond words. Show your gratitude by investing in opportunities for their professional development. This could mean providing access to training programs (like ours at Aurora Training Advantage 😉), workshops, or certifications. 4️⃣ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Recognize the importance of balance. Offering flexible schedules or encouraging team members to unplug over the holiday helps them recharge and feel valued beyond their work output. 5️⃣ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 Encourage a culture of appreciation by creating a space for team members to thank each other. A simple gratitude wall or virtual “thank-you thread” can boost morale and foster a spirit of community. This Thanksgiving, let’s make sure the people who keep everything running feel seen, heard, and appreciated. How are you showing gratitude to your team this season? Share your ideas below! With one “sleep night” left before Thanksgiving, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the power of gratitude—not just in our personal lives but in the workplace. Let’s be honest: 2024 hasn’t been easy for many. Economic uncertainty, shifting priorities, and challenges big and small have tested even the strongest nerves. Yet, as researchers repeatedly point out, gratitude is a powerful medicine for that which ails us. Gratitude isn’t just a feel-good notion; it’s grounded in neuroscience. When we express and receive gratitude, our brains release dopamine and serotonin—chemicals that promote feelings of happiness and reduce stress. Who doesn’t want that? With practice and time, we can actually rewire the brain, helping us focus on the positive vs. fixating on the negative. In the workplace, this positive bent translates to higher morale, deeper engagement, and yes, even increased productivity. When employees feel appreciated, they’re more likely to go the extra mile, collaborate, and stay committed to shared goals. Gratitude goes beyond simply saying “thank you.” It’s about creating a culture where wins – the homeruns and the base hits -- are celebrated. Actions of gratitude bond teams and help them navigate bumpy roads. Recognition of baby steps builds grit—the ability to keep moving forward together, even when the path is steep. Celebrating these little wins strengthens their connective 'glue' and makes them more durable for the challenges ahead. This Thanksgiving, take a moment to thank the teams that keep us moving forward. Celebrate the wins, the noble attempts, and the resilience to get back up after failure. Gratitude, after all, isn’t just a holiday sentiment—it’s a practice that holds teams together and propels us forward. I’m personally grateful to this LinkedIn “team” for your collective wisdom, your candor, and your help. You are excellent teachers, humorists, and connectors. Wishing you all a very Happy and meaningful Thanksgiving! #Gratitude #Leadership #Thanksgiving #TeamCulture #WorkplaceMorale

#MotivationMonday Happy Monday and happy Thanksgiving week everyone! On the topic of Thanksgiving, a commonly overlooked method that allows us to become more motivated is expressing gratitude and THANKFULNESS. Why does this increase motivation, you ask? This is because expressing thankfulness can largely increase intrinsic motivation, reduces stress, and allows people to feel more capable or in control. Besides these reasons, it is critical for employers and fellow employees to express gratefulness for their coworkers. An employee who feels appreciated is an employee who wants to stay with the company and contribute positively to the goals your company has. So, what are you thankful for? Leave a comment down below!

Gratitude, Growth, and Grace this Thanksgiving Season As we approach Thanksgiving, it’s a natural time to pause, reflect, and express gratitude—not just for the milestones we’ve achieved, but for the people who have walked alongside us on this journey. In today’s fast-paced, results-driven world, taking time to truly disconnect can feel like a luxury, but it’s essential for maintaining balance. This holiday, let’s prioritize what matters most: quality time with loved ones, meaningful connections, and self-care. For many, the holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, but it’s important to acknowledge that it can also be challenging. Let’s be mindful of our coworkers, employees, and friends who might be navigating personal hardships. A simple act of kindness—a thoughtful check-in, a word of encouragement, or just listening—can make a significant impact. As leaders, colleagues, and community members, we have an opportunity to foster a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusivity. Embrace teamwork, celebrate differences, and encourage flexibility. These small but intentional actions not only strengthen relationships but also drive innovation and growth in our personal and professional lives. This Thanksgiving, I challenge all of us to reflect on how we can uplift those around us, love more deeply, and appreciate the moments we’re given. Let’s remember: • Family first: Whether it’s the one we’re born into or the one we build, cherish these connections. • Gratitude daily: Success is built on the shoulders of many—never forget to say “thank you.” I’m thankful for the colleagues, mentors, and friends who inspire me, and I’m committed to paying that forward. #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #Leadership #Empathy #WorkLifeBalance #GrowthMindset

It’s the day before Thanksgiving 🍂– a perfect opportunity to express my gratitude to the dream team I have today. 🙏 Our journey wasn’t without bumps and errors, but those challenges brought us to where we are now, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Here are some lessons I’ve learned that helped me build such a strong and amazing team: 1️⃣ Don’t rush: Avoid hiring someone who’s just “good enough” to keep things moving. As a leader, your main priority is creating an environment of top performers. Like “No Rules Rules” says: “Stars accomplish most of the important work.” Set clear criteria, define your non-negotiables, and use an easy framework to compare apples to apples. 2️⃣ Go beyond the resume: Add assessments to your recruitment process that mimic real-life work (e.g., role plays with customers or use past project). Don’t focus only on hard skills – evaluate cultural fit too. I often invite candidates to spend half a day with the team, including a casual lunch, to get to know the person behind the resume. 3️⃣ Hire slow, fire fast: Have the courage to let go of hires who aren’t a match for the role or company. While clear, actionable feedback is essential, long-awaited improvement plans have rarely worked in my experience. Keeping someone who isn’t the right fit drains resources, time, and energy – and often lowers team performance. It’s tough, but I’ve reframed it this way: letting go isn’t about firing an underperformer; it’s about finding the right fit for both the individual and the team. Recruiting the right people is just the beginning. Developing them and fostering a culture of freedom and responsibility is where the magic truly happens. 🌟 Happy Thanksgiving to everyone – and a special thanks to Anna Latzke; Kinga Mrozowska Natalia Wielgus; Szymon Kamiński; Paulina Ołów; Magdalena Rzucidło; Karolina Cipielewska; Patrycja Kuźmińska; Joanna Radzińska and 7N!
