Inspired by a personal experience during a vacation to Cape Breton, I realized that having to drive all the way to a visitor center could be more convenient and time-saving with a virtual visitor center solution. This led me to create a virtual visitor center using advanced AI tools like Llama 3, Groq, and CrewAI. This project is part of our Data Visualization course under the guidance of Michael Zhang (Director, Master of Business Analytics Program). The video simulates an AI-driven virtual assistant that can provide real-time, accurate information to tourists, tailored to their specific needs, eliminating the need for physical visitor centers. Take a look at the video to see how AI can transform visitor services. #AIinTourism #SmartTourism #VisitorExperience #Llama3 #Groq #CrewAI

This year, with the support of our incredible global walking community of mappers and partners, we’ve expanded our reach to places we once thought were out of reach—from the narrow alleys of Doha 🇶🇦 and the beautiful superblocks of Barcelona 🇪🇸 to the diverse sidewalks of San Francisco 🇺🇸 and London 🇬🇧. The imagery we’ve collected is transforming into a rich resource of visual data, fueling the development of AI models designed to recognize and analyze urban infrastructure. From detecting sidewalk obstructions to identifying areas lacking greenery or accessibility, this data is proving invaluable for advancing AI applications in urban planning, navigation, and sustainable city development. It’s a step toward creating smarter cities powered by better, more inclusive AI. Learn more here 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/gqvH6Mbx

Time travel through municipal records is fascinating! Everyone talks about digital twins of cities, but at ArtifexAI we're creating both digital twins of cities and digital twins of history, where we have AI-structuring 70+ years of continuous records, from the 1950s to today--watching communities evolve meeting by meeting, decision by decision. This is one of my favorite records I've seen. Congrats Bryan, Texas on getting WiFi in 2005! This isn't just data, it's the DNA of how our cities became what they are today. #SmartCities #DigitalTwins #UrbanPlanning #AI

There is a ton of excitement as we look ahead to our inaugural Skift Data + AI Summit next Tuesday, June 4 in New York City. Join us as we hear how some of the larger themes and advancements in AI are impacting travel: from big players – including Microsoft, United Airlines, Expedia, Kayak, KLM, Destination Canada, and more – to gamechanger companies like NLX, Plum Guide, and Winnow. We will unpack what they have launched, how they think about the data needs and challenges across travel, and their tactical approaches to implementation. CC: Drew Pinto Jason Birnbaum Rajesh Naidu Shane O'Flaherty Gilad Berenstein Chris Hemmeter Kurien Jacob Meaghan Ferrigno Matthias Keller Marilyn Markham Matthijs Kieskamp Andrei Papancea Graham Foulds Stephanie Daniel Marc Zornes Anna Jaffe Nitin Sood and of course our Skift team Sarah Kopit Dennis Schaal Sean O'Neill Seth Borko Justin Dawes Jeremy Kressmann Alison McCarthy Rafat Ali and advisor Vivek Bhogaraju Our event is intentionally about DATA-first, and a core theme throughout is that AI is only as good as the data that powers it. Looking beyond any hype cycles, we'll see what people are really building and why it matters. Don't miss out. There are a limited number of tickets remaining for this inaugural event. https://lnkd.in/egGFaZA2

Data-driven decision-making is crucial for cities to effectively combat urban heat islands. Google's new #HeatResilience tool applies AI to satellite and aerial imagery, helping cities identify their hottest, most vulnerable communities and prioritize cooling strategies. By accounting for local characteristics like green space and roof reflectivity, this tool provides actionable insights at the neighborhood level. We're currently piloting the tool in 14 U.S. cities, aiding officials in developing plans to address rising temperatures. Learn more here ➡️ https://goo.gle/3XblWL7 #publicpolicy #AI #climatechange
