I've been preparing my slides for this talk I'm giving next week and am getting more and more excited about it! 🕵♀️ I think it's a lot of information being shared; and that's after we had to make a handful of cuts. ✂ It's a topic I really like; how to figure out what the heck is going on. How to spot the patterns, read between the lines, and then feel more confident in the corporate landscape. 🔑 So; do consider joining me; even if only to see how I make it through ~220 slides in ~50 minutes.

I recently reached out to Gordon Rapkin with any idea for his blog. Turned out he had already written it on March 17. The topic was around shared goals. Though I am disappointed with how my role ended at Zift, I fundamentally believe it had the strongest culture of any company I've ever worked for. A large part of that was the shared goals that we had every year. They would be given to us in a plan book mailed to our houses (we were remote). Throughout the year they were brought up on every company meeting, but also in meetings with just regular staff members. They gave us a specific direction for the year. It was great because everyone was marching towards the same North Star. Some of them were with hard numbers, but some were less measurable, speaking to our priorities as a company. For example, we wanted to "become an essential part in how our customers did their jobs." Because we had shared goals, there was a lot less conflict than what I've experienced at other companies. Projects that didn't align with the goals were deprioritized for ones that did and everyone truly worked together to try to achieve these things. There are tons of posts on here about culture and if you can even have company culture in remote work. My experience is its shared goals, that everyone knows, that make the difference. https://lnkd.in/gr-ZbpKt #culture #companygoals #strategy

Almost 80% of employees in companies do not have clear information about the product strategy and vision of the company 📌 Choose a random employee today and invite him/her to a 15-min meeting. How much does the vision and strategy she/he will convey to you reflect the actual vision and strategy of your company? Try to analyze this. I am preparing unique content on how we can establish a clear vision and strategic alignment within the company ✨ I would like to include your thoughts in this content. Leave a comment on this post. I will be sending the content as a priority to those who comment. 🤜

I can’t believe how this snuck up on me but Linkedin just congratulated me on the one year anniversary of Up/Right Analyst Relations! In that spirit, here’s my performance review: Accomplishments I’ve signed 10 clients! I would not have believed I’d have done that within a year when I started. And several of them have renewed or expanded, which I take as a sign of value delivered. After 15 years in CX, it has been a lot of fun (and quite a challenge) to prove I add value in new spaces this year. My Network is 🔥 Whether the Medallia Mafia or new connections through Pavilion, GTMfund, Stage 2 Capital, Women Defining AI and especially the dozens of other female founders I have met through all of those groups - I have been blown away by the introductions people have made on my behalf and the ways those are leading to real business. Podcasts and collaborative articles especially have led directly to revenue over the last year, and I would love to find more opportunities for things like that as I enter year 2! I’m Living in Balance. The whole point! I am working in a way that also leaves me time to have a life! I serve on the board of my neighborhood association. I run a Girl Scout Troop. I chaperone every school field trip. I ride an e-bike around playing Pokemon just because it’s fun! Opportunities It’s time to admit this is a business! A CRM, a 401k, a healthcare plan. I ignored this stuff during my proof of concept year, but after a one year Linkedin anniversary and double-digits of clients, it’s time to step up my game and professionalize in year 2. Plus my COBRA is running out. Starting with… More intentional Pipeline Generation. I got burned this quarter by a large client project that fell apart very late and left me with more open space than I wanted in my calendar. Smarter folks than me keep a backlog of ready-to-start clients to keep themselves out of that situation and that’s going to be me in year 2. Which I think will require Telling you all how I help! These 10 clients have fallen into a few different buckets, so over the first few weeks of June I’ll do a series of spotlight posts sharing more about the kinds of projects I’ve taken on so far, in the hope of helping you all when I might be a good fit to help you or someone in your network. Thank you all for the amazing support over year one, and if you have advice on the opportunities, I'm all ears! Here's to year 2! 🥂

How embedded is your company purpose? 👀 How do you turn it from just purpose as words to purpose as action? ❌ Because, sorry friends, it's not enough for your purpose to just be a catchy tagline. It needs to demonstrate why you exist and act as your the north star, guiding you and your team's everyday. And these stats are just a couple of the reasons why it's so important: 👉 83% of Gen Z’s consider a company’s purpose when deciding where to work AND 👉 79% of customers saying they are more loyal to brands with a clear purpose This is why your company purpose MUST be embedded across every element of your organisation. Both internally and externally. So here’s a way you can check how present your purpose really is. Enter: The 5Ps of Purpose. ⬇ This is your purpose-powered checklist: ☑️ People and culture: How does your employee experience and your teams ways of working align to your purpose? ☑️ Positioning: How does your marketing, brand and communication demonstrate and reinforce your purpose? ☑️ Products and services: How does your product, pricing and service support your purpose? ☑️ Performance metrics: How do your performance metrics, both internally and externally, align with your purpose? ☑️ Processes and systems: How do your operational processes help you meet your purpose related targets? As you read through these, how does everything stack up? Is your purpose, well, fit for purpose? Let me know in the comments below 👇 💭 The inspiration for this post came from the awesome conversations I had at #PurposeFest Bristol yesterday - it was inspiring to hear so many stories from purpose-driven companies making a real difference for people, planet and their communities. #Purpose #culturedesign #Employeeengagement ———————————— Like what you see here? 👋 I’m Alicia, co-founder of The Future Kind. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻: 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲 I’ve always viewed LinkedIn as a space to share insights and engage with a broad professional community. My posts here are generally geared towards a wide audience, touching on various aspects of making work more meaningful and human. Behind the scenes, though, I’ve been sending out a more personal newsletter through The Human Atelier. These emails are crafted for a closer circle—people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, working with, or collaborating with in the past. They offer deeper insights into the topics we’re passionate about. Recently, a few colleagues mentioned that the narratives in these newsletters might resonate with a wider audience. So, I’ve decided to open up our still-growing newsletter archive to all of you. If you’re curious, you can explore it here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/djZ4hw_q We’re mindful of your time (and ours), so we only send out about four newsletters a year. If you find value in these conversations and would like to receive future emails, feel free to subscribe at the bottom of the archive page. Let’s keep making work more human—together.
