City2Surf action! Along with 90,000 others, I participated in the City2Surf. It was my 2nd time joining the 14km run. Despite not feeling 100%, I managed to score a PB of 1 hour 22 mins! Leading up to it, I was also asked to cover and write a story for the Diocese of Parramatta who had an #activeforvocations team fundraising to support young men in their journey to become priests. Hi everyone Do you want to support PTTR Ltd? Did you know that we receive no government funding - either federal or state? Philanthropic grants and donations are our primary means of support. :) So here are 3 ways you can help make sure we can keep on supporting over 100 PTTR communities across Australia! 1) Make a personal donation through our Justgiving page. They will provide you with a tax receipt, or follow the link on our website. www.paintthetownread.info 2) If your organisation would like to make a donation, contact me at bb@paintthetownread.info, and I can issue you an invoice and/or tax receipt. 3) Buy a ticket/s in the 2024 People First Community Lottery with the total value of your lottery ticket/s coming to Paint the Town Read! We just need to sell the tickets. Tickets are only $2 each and you go into the draw for a chance to win one of 52 prizes worth over $300,000. The lottery is funded and run by People’ First. They invited us to join the Lottery. It would be great if everyone could help us raise money this year, by buying tickets and/ or spreading the word amongst family & friends. How to buy tickets? Head to https://lnkd.in/gsbK9BHr, find Paint the Town Read and click buy tickets. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include WA…probably because WA already has the terrific LotteryWest, which has funded PTTR events in the past in WA. So WA folk, ignore this request, and focus instead on the other 3 ideas above. :) To slightly change one of our PTTR rhymes: Giving is fun - from Day 1 Did you hear what I said? Paint the Town REaD!
Let’s all read, talk, sing and rhyme with children from birth

Sports have long been a beacon of hope for individuals from less privileged backgrounds, offering a pathway out of poverty and into a brighter future. Through sports, young people can develop valuable skills like discipline, hard work, communication skills and teamwork, which can translate into success in all areas of life. Moreover, sports can provide a sense of belonging and identity, helping to boost self-esteem and confidence. By supporting and investing in sports programs such as scouting, tournaments for underprivileged youths, we can help level the playing field and empower them to achieve their full potential. By doing so, we can help break the cycle of poverty, take crime out of many and unlock a brighter future for generations to come. why are we preaching this? Many of this less privileged youths lack basic gears and kits to achieve this. #pairstoglory is tailored in a small way to reach out to as much as resources can permit. why not be part of this and contributing towards the well-being, success of this youths. please visit: www.pairstoglory.org for more.

“Romany Gypsies, Roma, and Traveller communities are often left out of decisions that directly impact our lives. Many organisations claim to represent us, but in many cases, they are not led by people from our communities. As a result, our voices aren’t heard, and the policies and services receiving funding to support us often miss the mark. We call on government officials, charity leaders, funders, educational institutions, local councils, and civil services to prioritise authentic representation and leadership within Romany Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities. By supporting grassroots-led initiatives, creating inclusive policies, and providing targeted development programmes, these decision-makers can help ensure that our communities have a real voice in the decisions that affect our lives. By signing this petition, you are standing for our right to be genuinely represented. Together, we can make the changes that are long overdue—for our communities and for society as a whole.” https://lnkd.in/eJyyzKZZ?

❤Free At Last!🤍💙Free At Last!❤Thank...GodAlmighty!WeAre Free At Last!!! From Constraint to Independence: 🇺🇲 Breaking Boundaries 🇺🇲 And Redefining the Definition of 'Freedom!' ' What exactly, comes to mind when you hear the word, "Freedom?" For most of us, it is a word with endless possibilities and thought provoking meaning! It can morph instantly, taking on new & profound meaning, dependant on the time, who its applied to and the circumstances of the situation. Regardless of when and how its used, it embodies a sense of relief. In this post, we celebrate freedom and explore its impact on our lives. Let us delve deeper into the power of liberation and the possibilities it brings. Freedom allows individuals to break free, free from societal norms & preset limits. Enabling the discovery of our true selves to pursue our passions without constraints! Liberation opens up a world of possibilities, fostering creativity, innovation, and personal growth. It empowers, emboldens, relinquishes status quo and beckons the forge of a uniquely tailored path towards fulfillment and success. By embracing freedom, we can unlock our full potential and create a life that is truly authentic and meaningful. But how do we get there, from here? Unlocking Homeownership: In today's world, the dream of owning a home seems increasingly out of reach for many. There is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Thru the power of donations, communities are coming together, unlocking doors to homeownership for those in need. The cost of homeownership has been on a steady incline in recent years. It's difficult for many individuals and families to afford a place to call their own. Rising property prices, stagnant wages, and limited access to affordable housing options, the dream of owning a home often feels like an unattainable goal. Donations play a critical & crucial role in making homeownership a reality for those struggling to make ends meet. Providing financial support, resources, and assistance, donors can help bridge the gap between aspiring homeowners and the homes of their dreams. Thru donations, organizations and non-profits are able to create affordable housing initiatives. Together, we are making home purchases more accessible for moderate and low-income individuals and families. From down payment assistance programs to affordable housing developments, donations break down barriers to homeownership and create pathways to stability and security. When communities come together to support one another, incredible things can happen. Pooling resources, sharing knowledge, and working towards a common goal, individuals and organizations make lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. Thru the collective power of donations, we can create a world where homeownership is within reach for everyone. 2 Cor. 9:7 Learn How@ https://lnkd.in/g8a5EWGF

Announcing the beginning of the MAD Church. What is the MAD Church? Great question. Have you ever wanted to belong to an organization that focused on serving others exclusively - an organization that makes a difference - where all your contributions go toward the benefit of others? This is the MAD Church mission. Too often we hear, "I would love to contribute, but all churches are in it for the money" or "I don't know what the church is doing with my contributions" or "There are so many poor examples in the church; I don't trust anyone". In some cases, sadly, these statements are all true. How about finding a different view of the church? MAD stands for "Make a Difference". We see something completely different in how Jesus ministered to people in the Bible compared to what we see in the world today. In the Bible, we see Him serving the people first and foremost. After the people were served, then He spent time teaching the people. This is exactly the mantra of the MAD Church: Serve First, Speak Second. You can read about that focus more at this link: https://lnkd.in/gxSbDaMm and see if you agree with our organizational focus. Visit our website. Listen to our first message. See if you want to be part of the MAD Church, no matter what city you live in. Our aim is to impact communities across the globe: 1) to educate and 2) to support local causes in order to 3) simply "make a difference" in the lives of others. https://lnkd.in/gm9UXrg9
