#Finance, #grids, #permitting and #supply chains will be top of the agenda at this weeks 14th Assembly of IRENA - always one of the highlight events of the year for me. Over 50 energy ministers, representatives from 130 countries and renewable energy industry CEOs are gathering in Abu Dhabi to discuss actions that can deliver a tripling of renewable capacity by 2030.
Join me, and CEOs from the Global Renewables Alliance, at the following #Time4Action events:
🕰 Monday 15th - 6-8 pm (GST) : Networking drinks (DM me for details)
🕰 Tuesday 16th - 11-12 pm (GST) : Tripling renewables panel, Masdar pavilion, WFES, ADNEC (pre-registration to WFES required)
🕰 Tuesday 16th - 1-2 pm (GST) : Panel discussion on #3xRenewables - IRENA pavilion at WFES, ADNEC exhibition centre (pre-registration to WFES required)
🕰 Wednesday 17th - 10:30 - 1pm (GST) : High-level Plenary Session on Tripling of Renewables - IRENA Assembly, St Regis (pre-registration to IRENA assembly required)
The renewable energy industry stand ready to deliver, but policymakers must ‘pave the way’ with a combination of long term planning and urgent short term actions.
The Global Renewables Alliance will itself be launching several initiatives this week as part of the Time4Action campaign - aimed at unlocking renewable deployment, especially in emerging markets.
