One of my main goals for this year is to significantly grow my knowledge of Chinese language and culture. Over the weekend I finished watching the recording of the latest ACAMS Masterclass on Anti-Financial Crime Considerations when Doing Business in China, and I don't know if I've ever walked away from a webinar with so much new information! I knew nothing about China's regulatory landscape going into this class, but I came away with a foundational understanding not only of the regulatory framework, but also some of the (many) challenges and nuances of compliance requirements in China, particularly AML measures! The section covering China's accomplishments and challenges in regulating CDD and ID&V processes was so interesting, especially when covering how China approaches UBO reporting and identification. I also really enjoyed learning about how different cultural aspects influence business practices in China. I'll probably re-watch this webinar in a week or two to really solidify the information covered, because it was so valuable to my personal and professional goals this year and there was a lot I wanted to research deeper on my own time. So far, the quality of all of the ACAMS masterclasses I've watched has been excellent, and I've already pre-registered for a few more this year. I hope to see more China-specific material come out in the future, but in any case I highly recommend trying out one of their masterclasses if you have the chance! :) https://lnkd.in/gPjBxfTf
