4th December Day 2 : Challenge accepted Time Navigation Time is one of the most precious things that one can have. We get to here such adages like" time waits for no man" and " Time is money". I believe all these were emphasis on time importance However, we come from different parts of the globe and thus the time zones. Someone somewhere is retiring to bed while the other is waking up to start the day. And as the technology space keeps growing, people are working with their laptops on a global space so how do we navigate through as a virtual assistant? Understand the time zones in which you are and the rest of the world. This helps in calculating the time in order to see if it's the best to do your work. We can also find it on already calculated on apps which is quite easier to manipulate. Don’t skip this step if you want to organize smoother hybrid events: 👉 Make your dry run a 1:1 copy of the live event. We all know that a dry run is required to ensure any hiccups and potential points of failure for your events are mapped out and preferably resolved way before the event starts to ensure smooth sailing during the event. However, what good is a dry run if you’re not testing it on location with the same set-up, speakers, and team that will be involved on the day off? Look at these examples to see why: 🤦♂️ The fact that your personal Windows laptop and home Wi-Fi work doesn’t mean that your Apple MacBook and office Wi-Fi work as well. 🤦♂️ The fact that your speaker has a professional microphone and camera set-up in their studio means nothing when they decide to join by phone in their car for their session (yes, this still happens). 🤦♂️ The fact that your tech-savvy professional can manage all that’s going on simultaneously doesn’t mean that the intern you’ll be using on the day itself will be able to. Things can always go wrong, but the closer your dry run is to an exact 1:1 of your event day, the fewer unforeseen problems and stress you’ll have to deal with.
