Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas and is the 2nd biggest cause of lung cancer in Ireland causing up to 300 cases per year. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 Employers are required to protect their employees from work-related hazards, this includes protection from radon gas.
