Happy Monday! This past week, I shared the various base works for July’s “Scoops of Joy: An Ice Cream World.” For today's update, I wanted to share an update to "Shake and Sundae Oasis." The site will feature an area that will feature a shake and sundae shop where visitors can enjoy a refreshing milkshake or a tasty sundae. Also, the exhibit will feature Sparky and Ace as soda jerks to help visitors along the journey. Having them as soda jerks as guides helps drive the ice cream theme and give the mascots another level. I have more surprises in the works for the next update. Santa Re-Imagined! Sometimes in design, it’s good to reimagine something as something else. What this does is make you think about the subject in a completely different way, without the bias that we place on it. In this example, I’ve reimagined Santa Claus as a steamy hot mug of hot chocolate! My reasoning? ☕️He symbolises warmth & comfort. Hot chocolate provides warmth and emotional comfort to us. ☕️Generosity & sweetness. Hot chocolate is warm and sweet. The richness of the chocolate echoes Santa’s abundance of character and the treats he delivers. The marshmallows and cream add a white fluffy sweetness, which is echoed in his beard. ☕️Community spirit. Just as Santa represents family and unity, so does hot chocolate, often shared to bring people together. ☕️Nostalgic Traditions. Just as Santa is a timeless figure from our childhood, so too is hot chocolate. There’s nothing like a mug of hot chocolate and the marshmallow goo clinging to your lips, to transport you back to childhood. The idea of Santa Claus is not that he’s a person, but more a feeling. Conjuring up these sorts of emotive images for your business helps your clients to connect your business with their own emotions, and as we buy on emotion, you can see how powerful this can be. You only have to see the big retail ads this time of year, to see how they play on our emotions. So let your imagination run wild and imagine your business in a whole new light.
