I often get asked if learning Snowflake will help your #data career. Quick obervation: Currently 721 open jobs in #LinkedIn seeking #Snowflake experience vs. 450 for #Spark related technologies(managed or DIY). This means there are close 60% more jobs for #Snowflake than the next most popular tech, so I say yes, it sure helps to learn Snowflake. Almost every customer I work with is looking for a Snowflake expert or knows someone who does.

When you're a data engineer and you come across job postings that list: - REQUIRED: 10 years plus in Databricks or - REQUIRED: 10 years plus in Snowflake Well, you already know they have a screwed up pipeline on either of those systems, which you will be inheriting. Be careful when choosing that job.

I'm being asked a lot recently for *certified* Snowflake and Databricks Data Engineers recently. It got me thinking about certifications. Lots of people do the base certifications to add to their profile, but stop there. They don't pursue the more advanced ones (sometimes, not always!). SnowPro Core to SnowPro Advanced Architect Databricks Fundamentals to one of the Platform Architect certs I get they're not easy to get, but I feel like a lot of people don't value having them. So my question is... Do you see the value in certifications? Why or why not? If you're a hiring manager, do you prefer an advanced certification, or would you rather real-world experience? #certifications #snowpro #databricks #snowflake #platformarchitect #snowproadvancedarchitect
