I often get asked if learning Snowflake will help your #data career. Quick obervation: Currently 721 open jobs in #LinkedIn seeking #Snowflake experience vs. 450 for #Spark related technologies(managed or DIY). This means there are close 60% more jobs for #Snowflake than the next most popular tech, so I say yes, it sure helps to learn Snowflake. Almost every customer I work with is looking for a Snowflake expert or knows someone who does.
Besides, Snowflake is easier to learn :)
From these stats we can easily derive that you need almost twice the FTE to achieve the same business outcome!
I am literally hiring for Snowflake expertise so can confirm 😁
Of course, Spark by itself may seem a weak counterpart, but when it comes to managed Spark platform, Databricks is a game changer, even though I am one of Snowflake fans.
snowflake+polaris+iceberg will add more jobs.
Absolutely agree! Learning Snowflake not only boosts your career prospects but also positions you at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry. At CloudHive, we specialize in Snowflake recruitment and see significant demand for Snowflake expertise, both for contract and full-time positions. The statistics you mentioned clearly highlight that. We’ll be publishing insights into our application rates soon, including the percentage of individuals holding Snowflake certifications, interview request ratios, etc. Stay tuned!
Elegant observation. Keep the insights coming!
One of the first things I tell any of my customers when speaking about Databricks (sorry, managed spark platform) is to stop thinking about Spark or being worried by it. Simply put it to one side in all of conversations because that ‘managed platform’ is so so much more.
