From Marketing Intern to Global Virtual Consultant: My X-Culture Journey The clock struck 7 PM, another day as a marketing intern done. But these past 4 months, my evenings were filled with a different kind of challenge: the X-Culture Global Collaboration competition. Imagine this: 6,100 students from over 135 universities in 30 countries, all collaborating virtually as international business consultants. We were a team of five, united by a common goal - crafting a winning strategy for a global company. Let me just say it wasn't all smooth sailing. Cultural differences popped up like unexpected plot twists, and time zones made communication an intricate dance. Juggling this with my final year college curriculum was a marathon, not a sprint. But with every hurdle crossed, our team grew closer, our understanding deeper. The result? Not just this International Business Certificate, but an incredible experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. We secured a "Good" rating for our final report, a testament to the collective effort of a truly global team. This journey from marketing intern to virtual consultant ignited a passion for international business. It's an experience and I'm eager to leverage in my future endeavors. #XCulture #GlobalCollaboration #InternationalBusiness #Teamwork P.S. A huge shoutout to X-Culture, Vas Taras, PES University and Ajay Massand for making this incredible opportunity possible!

This is a powerful framework for all career stages that we use on the My Digital Impact program at Barcelona Technology School so you can get the most out of your skills and discover how to truly enjoy your job. Zone of Genius ✨ Things you do effortlessly that amaze others ✨ Activities you can do for hours without tiring ✨ Work that energises rather than drains you On the program, we discuss "What would you do whether you were recognised for it or not?" For many this can reveal a pattern they hadn't noticed. One student realised they naturally gravitate toward bridging technical and business conversations, making complex concepts accessible to diverse audiences. That's the magic of finding your Zone of Genius. It's not just about what you're good at (your Zone of Excellence), but about identifying where your talent creates the highest impact with the least resistance. 🎯 Try this reflection: Think of your most productive day recently. What were you doing that felt effortless yet produced remarkable results? That's often a clue to your Zone of Genius. 💭 What activities do you find yourself doing that feel both effortless AND energizing? I'd love to hear your insights. #CareerDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #ZoneOfGenius ____ In addition to my role as Director of Global Talent at Puig, I'm the Lead Professor for the Career Development Program at Barcelona Technology School, where I designed and deliver these interactive sessions.

𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐟^&!#*^ 𝐔𝐩 Especially as German I feel that it is somehow inherited in our culture to strive for perfection and to fear making mistakes. When I was working as an intern for 6 months in Sydney at German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in the PR and Comms department I accidentally linked the wrong advertisement to the newsletter which was sent out to our 200+ members. Yup a typical intern goof-up. In the end we had to offer a special advertisement placement to apologize. Well my point is as Head of Product working in software development it is inevitable that we make mistakes, we just call them bugs. Mistakes give us the chance to #grow and #learn. Especially as a leader it is essential for me foster a #culture where team members feel #empowered to experiment, take risks, and yes, also make mistakes. By reframing failures as stepping stones to success, I think continuous growth and thriving can be cultivated. I think you all will wholeheartedly agree that #Innovation emerges by trial and error and each #iteration can encourage #creativity and #experimentation, ultimately making innovation systemic in the company. Recently I travelled to the US and I noticed quite glaringly that failure and mistakes are not only celebrated but in-fact embraced. Today at K7 Business Network, we had the pleasure of witnessing one of our talented interns, deliver an insightful presentation on City Branding. The energy, creativity, and depth of thought they brought to the discussion were truly inspiring! City branding isn’t just about logos or catchy slogans; it’s about creating an identity that reflects the soul of a city. It’s about answering questions like: 1) What makes this city unique? 2) What story does it want to tell the world? 3) How does it attract investors, tourists, and new residents while keeping its local community proud and engaged? A well-branded city turns its strengths—whether cultural heritage, economic opportunities, or natural beauty—into a cohesive narrative. This narrative becomes a beacon for growth, fostering pride among locals and curiosity from the outside world. But city branding isn’t just for municipal leaders. It’s a lesson for businesses and individuals alike: ✔️ What is your unique story? ✔️ What are you offering the world that no one else can? ✔️ How are you presenting your value to those who need it most? To our intern Mbah Lesky : Bravo on a job well done! You reminded us that whether it’s a city, a business, or an individual, strong branding is a gateway to transformation. To everyone reading this: What’s your brand saying about you? Let’s create something extraordinary together. #BrandYou #CityBranding #K7BusinessNetwork #EmpoweringGrowth

"Sam, you are living the life!!" My 3rd year was really fun, I got into finalist for 2 of the biggest competition in October 2023 both in technology and business case. Coincidently the finals was on the same day, hence the quote finalist of both, champion of none. I believe I achieve something no one had done before and no one ever will, attending 2 physical finals on the same day, although I lost in both but that was fine. At the same time I realized that, my time is up, is time to move to next stage of my life, something more than just competition. Then, an unexpected win in another AR/VR competition was a real confidence booster and I decided to go for a few more. On a random day on January, I received a call from Malaysia Huawei Seeds coordinator telling me she recommend me to go for Seeds Tour MWC 2024, she said the final decision lies with Huawei China which later on she called again saying I got the opportunity to Barcelona, Spain, that... was probably some of the best days of my life. And I saw they are recruiting Seeds ambassador, I tried my best but it was not enough, that's okay. After my time in Spain, I planned trilogy of my own, a good ending for my competition journey, well let's just say it didn't end with a good note but I saw my growth over the past 2 years of hustle. And I decided to focus more time on my academics which help me securing an oversea internship opportunity. I went back to my secondary school to share my experience, and went to Japan for 2 weeks in Kyutech. Oh, forgot to mention I got ambassadorship in Loreal and Samsung, I took the S24 Ultra the day I depart to Japan, got notified that I was going to Italy for Intern while in Japan and going to NUS during that time as well. I skipped my 3rd year last academic week in UPM to attend lectures in NUS, Singapore. Have to say it was worth it. 2 days after my finals ended, I arrived in Italy to start my intern, and here I am now writing this post. Not going to list down all the things I had done and joined in 3rd year because seems like people are stalking it. But a lot of things had happened, ups and down with most of them are ups. Things around me takes a lot of twist and turns before arriving and some weird things had been happening to me. I feel like my life is not playing a game with me but playing me. Let's leave this discussion as another post. "No I am not living the life, my life is playing me." ~ by me, a loading engineer
