𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩𝐬: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 . During a database backup, the "begin backup" and "end backup" commands manage the process. . . The prerequisite is that the database must be prepared to handle backup operations. . Before initiating the backup, the database must be in archive log mode to ensure consistency. . During the "begin backup" process, the data file of the selected tablespace is put into backup mode. . This prevents new transactions from being applied directly to that data file, ensuring a stable snapshot for backup purposes. . The backup is then taken using an OS command. . Once the backup is complete, the "end backup" command resumes normal database activity. . At this point, transactions that were temporarily held are applied to the tablespace data file, ensuring data consistency. . This method safeguards data integrity while capturing a reliable backup without interrupting overall database operations. . Thus we can say this ensures data consistency while maintaining the integrity of ongoing operations. #shainfotech #upendraroy #itcareer #careerguidance #careeradvice

Beyond Features: The Crucial Role of Non-Functional Requirements Non-functional requirements (NFRs) describe the attributes and qualities of a system that are crucial to its overall performance and usability. They often define how the system operates and behaves under various conditions. Here are some examples of non-functional requirements across different categories: 1. Performance: - The system should respond to user actions within 2 seconds under normal load conditions. - The system must be capable of handling 10,000 simultaneous users without performance degradation. 2. Maintenance: - The source code must be well-documented and follow a consistent coding style for easy maintenance. - The system should support parallel run of modules for easier updates without downtime. 3. Reliability: - The system must maintain 99.99% uptime over a rolling 12-month period. - Mean time to recovery (MTTR) for any system failure should be less than 30 minutes. 4. Security: - All user data must be encrypted both at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols. - The application must support multi-factor authentication for user login. 5. Scalability: - The application must scale up or down to handle load fluctuations without manual intervention. - The database should support horizontal scaling to accommodate growing data volume. 6. Compatibility: - The application should be compatible with the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge). - The software must support integration with third-party APIs and services. 7. Interoperability: - The system should allow data exchange with other applications using APIs. - Data should be stored in a standard format (e.g., JSON, XML) for ease of integration. 8. Portability: - The application should be deployable on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). - The system must be operable on different operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS. 9. Compliance: - The application must adhere to regulations or industry standards eg; DORA, MiFID for data protection and privacy. #businessanalyst #dataanalyst #BAjobs #BAinterview

You are a DBA. You are the custodian of a companies most valuable asset: Data. You are arguably one of the most important people in IT with one of the most important tasks. Enjoy it but acknowledge your role for the importance it has. This is not a poll, not a question. These are statements of fact.
