A quick reminder for GivingTuesday: organizations like school PTOs, small farms, and local food banks need donations today just as much as larger nonprofits. When I worked in corporate, I led programs encouraging employees to give back and amplified impact with generous employer matches - not just for Giving Tuesday, but for the entire week! Now, as an entrepreneur, my focus has shifted closer to home supporting my local community, kids’ schools, and small nonprofits that make a big difference. So today, I want to encourage you to: ✅ Don’t forget about the small but mighty organizations in your community ✅ Leverage your employer’s matching programs to increase your impact Your gift has the power to create meaningful change. Let’s show up for the causes that matter most to us. Go give! #GivingTuesday #CommunityImpact #SupportLocal #Philanthropy #GoGive

Giving Tuesday: a day of energy, inspiration and persistent fundraising efforts. But as it winds down, I’m reminded of something even more meaningful — how this work connects us. I met this wonderful group of women a few years ago when we spoke on a panel together. Since then, our conversations have shifted far beyond fundraising. Today, we came together to celebrate the (almost) end of Giving Tuesday with a shared understanding only fundraisers can appreciate. It’s not just about the dollars raised or campaigns launched — it’s about collaboration, supporting one another and finding ways to amplify our collective impact. As fundraisers, we know the power of community. Whether it’s connecting donors to causes they care about or connecting with one another to share insights, we’re stronger when we work together. #GivingTuesday #FundraisingCommunity

Every year, organizations across the U.S. celebrate Annual Giving Day, a reminder of the power we hold to uplift causes, strengthen communities, and inspire change. Whether it is a financial donation, volunteering your time, or leveraging your position to bring others to the table, your contribution matters. Whenever I think of annual giving days, I’m reminded of the 1984 classic Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. In a pivotal moment, Ice-T rallies the crowd with a simple yet powerful call: “Give! Give, so Miracles Can Live!” While the goal in the movie was to save a community center, the sentiment applies to every cause fighting to make the world a better place. Today, I encourage you to: Donate Financially: No amount is too small to make an impact; Volunteer Your Time: Many organizations thrive thanks to the dedication of those who give their skills and energy; Leverage Your Influence: Use your voice, platform, or title to shine a light on causes close to your heart. Giving does not just change the lives of those we help—it transforms us, building communities that embody hope and resilience. So today, let us take action. Whether you are supporting education, environmental sustainability, veterans, or local nonprofits, remember: every effort creates a ripple effect. #AnnualGivingDay #Philanthropy #Volunteerism #MakeADifference

So, uh, this is gonna be fun! It seems like the Giving USA Foundation's annual report has generated a whole lot of discussion this year . . . good, interesting, thoughtful, critical discussion. Fundamentally coming down to, "What does this report - and any of these benchmark reports - mean for how we conduct ourselves as fundraisers, the work we do, and how this knowledge impacts #philanthropy and #fundraising." Barbara O'Reilly, CFRE, Cherian Koshy and I really met and got to know each other working on the Rogare - The Fundraising Think Tank Critical Fundraising Report for the United States. We've collaborated, talked, encouraged, and challenged each other ever since. That fundamental question drives everything we do - how do we use this, what does it mean, and how does this data impact the way we #fundraise today. We're looking forward to your joining us in this conversation.

The giving season is the perfect time to reflect on the power of saying thank you. For nonprofits, it’s not just a kind gesture—it’s a cornerstone of building lasting relationships with supporters. Research shows that a lack of acknowledgment is one of the top reasons donors stop giving. So, how can we all do better? Simple steps, like sending a heartfelt thank-you within a week of receiving a donation, can make a world of difference. As donor-communications expert Lisa Sargeant puts it, "Act fast, but with heart." A warm, personal note beats a cookie-cutter response every time. Let’s make this season about showing our gratitude to those who help us make a difference. And as we look ahead to 2025, join us in keeping the spirit of giving alive—together, we can inspire change year-round. USA TODAY explores how GivingTuesday drives support for nonprofits: "More than a decade after launching, Giving Tuesday continues to help millions of Americans pause and reflect amid hectic holidays, while also connecting them to broader movements for good. Nonprofits say Giving Tuesday is the top day of the year for donations because it brings in massive waves of brand-new donors − many of whom end up sticking with the organization long-term."
