We are proud to share that ESR-LOGOS REIT has clinched the “Best Real Estate Manager” award at the prestigious AsianInvestor Asset Management Award 2024, with Ms. Charlene-Jayne Chang, Head of Capital Markets and Investor Relations, receiving this honour on our behalf! This award is yet another testament to the success of our 4R Strategy executed in 2023 amidst a volatile business landscape. Our foresight in identifying the detriments of rapidly rising inflation and interest rates on our portfolio led us to swiftly implement mitigating strategies, including early-year equity fund raising and divestments of non-core assets. These measures not only helped us navigate through volatility but also enabled E-LOG to emerge stronger into 2024, poised for continued success. At E-LOG, we remain ever vigilant in identifying market trends and assessing our position. We continuously seek ways to improve and adapt within the broader context to ensure we remain relevant and implement strategies that allows us to navigate challenges and to consistently provide value to our stakeholders. We extend our sincere thanks to the organisers, AsianInvestor, and panel of judges for this recognition. We also thank our dedicated team and stakeholders for their unwavering support. #ESRLOGOSREIT #ELOG #ESR #Awards #FutureReady #NewEconomy

There are far worse places to spend three days than Milan - especially when there's a major #fundraise event on! This week, JOIN Capital's Jan Borgstädt, Federico Fini and Flavia Levi had the privilege of attending the latest of the Zero One Hundred Conferences. Jan moderated a panel entitled “LP Perspective on Regional Venture Capital Landscape: What Type of LP Investors Are the Most Active in the Regional Fund Allocation?”. Great discussions with fellow panelists - Simona Corno Partner Fund of Funds at CDP Venture Capital SGR, Gregor von dem Knesebeck, Managing Director at Blue Future Partners, and Spyros Arsenis Spyros, Head of the Business Innovation and Director of the NBG Business Seeds at National Bank of Greece. A few key takeaways : 💡 Private LPs now view public funding not as a weakness in a GP’s fundraising abilities but as a sign of quality and sound governance. 💡 There is great debate on regulations being tweaked to accomodate allow more private and public capital to flow into venture capital. 💡 A great GP is a GP that’s not only a visionary, but great at administration and execution! Until the next time - arrivederci! #Investment #VentureCapital

Now we have had the opportunity to review the transcript of this fascinating conversation, it seems apparent that thinking is turning hard to the nature of the inflection point we are reaching in global markets. In short, it is all well and good to talk about 'higher for longer' in the context of taking air out of a balloon that was pumped full of pandemic stimulus, but we have now reached the point where consumers everywhere are feeling the pain. And yet central banks may not cut, or at least not far, unless that pain metastasises into unemployment and other symptoms of spare capacity. There are no easy answers for policymakers, especially as, at the same time, everyone is only too aware of the heightened atmosphere of political and geopolitical tension looming in H2. Talk on the RBNZ, for instance, coalesced around a sense that it may now be overdoing its hawkish tone. The good news? Issuers have been able to make hay in H1, including in the Australian market - which has experienced unprecedented scale and consistency of demand. New Zealand has been harder for global borrowers but there is ongoing optimism about underlying demand even as pricing has been tough to line up. You can read a full transcript of the discussion in the June/July edition of KangaNews magazine - to be published in late July.
KangaNews was on the road again last week as Samantha Swiss and Helen Craig joined our colleagues at ANZ in London to host our annual global issuer and investor roundtable. Thanks to Simon Eckhoff, Alex Gowing, Brenton Smith, CFA, Emily Tonkin and Paul Snowden for co-hosting, and of course to all the participants for their contributions: Lars Ainsley, Marcin Bill, Jon Day from Newton Investment Management, Andrea Dore, Rachel Fisher, CFA, Stefan Goebel, Jens Hellerup, Lukasz Irisik, CFA, Anna Rudgard, Joris Schoenmakers, CFA and Jesse Tennant-Brown.
