Visa launches "Token for life" and cements itself as a tech company more than a payments company.
"The announcements include the launch of Visa Flexible Credential, which enables users to toggle between debit, credit, rewards points, and buy now, pay later (BNPL) when completing a transaction."
This wraps up all of your transactions in a nice little bow with a Visa label on it and gives flexibility around interchange rates applied depending on which product the customer chooses (and where you are in the world)
"Click to Pay" is the other important discussion point. This has a couple of impacts with one of them being a way to limiting ApplePay in e-commerce but also, locking customers into the Visa ecosystem.

Refunds are supposed to be straightforward. But often they aren't. Despite merchants processing the refunds, it takes days, sometimes even weeks before the refund amount reaches the customer. This is not a great UX for consumers, and increases customer support costs for the merchant, even when the outcome is outside their control.
With Visa Direct Faster Refunds, merchants can ensure the refunds are real-time, improving customer satisfaction and reducing customer support costs.

It’s no secret that the savvy, younger generation of consumers today value personalized experiences greatly, and this is an expectation that extends to their financial lives.
