Over the next five years, all newly manufactured passenger vehicles in the US will be mandated to include automatic emergency braking, a safety feature expected to save hundreds of lives annually. This announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration signifies the most substantial safety regulation in the last twenty years. The objective of this regulation is to mitigate rear-end and pedestrian collisions, with the ultimate goal of reducing the current annual toll of approximately 40,000 traffic-related fatalities. #US #EmergencyBrakingsystem #USA #Feature

As new rules surrounding active safety features come into force in the EU, we are likely to see vehicles with the same specification sold in the UK. Good news as this points to an increase in crash avoidance and reduction in road user deaths. https://buff.ly/3xNi4aE #fleet safety

With busier roads than ever, it’s crucial to prioritise the safety of vulnerable road users. One way to make a difference is high visibility lighting. Thanks to safety enhancing regulations, vehicles over 9 metres long (trucks, buses and coaches) must have at least 3 flashing side markers along their length for better visibility during turns. This isn’t just for new vehicles! Peterson’s PM-5001 Side Marker Flasher Control Unit makes it easy to retrofit older fleets, synching side markers with front and rear indicators. The result? Enhanced warning indicators that help protect other road users and pedestrians. Let’s make our roads safer together! Common Sense tells you that the further you drive a truck, the more often it needs to be serviced. Just because your trailer is used less frequently and can be serviced less often, doesn't mean that you can stretch out servicing on your truck that drives 15000km per week. #104truckrepairs #commonsense
