As a legal person in the media industry, one of my main responsibilities is to manage and monitor the legality of collaborations and events. This time, an unusual request came from our production team. The first time I contributed directly to the field as a master of ceremony for the 2024 Jakarta Fair. Gladly, the event ran smoothly & everyone was satisfied. However, in this post, I really want to discuss the other side of the legal profession. Should a legal person always be serious and unemotional❓It seems that some still hold onto this misconception. But the fact is that every legal person has their own emotional intelligence and personality. I believe that having a sense of humour and passion for things you like, such as one of my passions is public speaking, can be an asset in the legal field. This quality has always helped me become a more effective communicator, able to show genuine emotions so as to provide a comfortable environment and establish professional trust relationships with clients and/or colleagues. It doesn't mean that a serious and calm attitude is not necessary. But complemented by being authentic and true to yourself, your unique personality can help you stand out in this field that sometimes feels very formal and rigid. Thus, you will ultimately fall in love with your own legal profession and be treated with kindness & respect.🌟🌟 #legalperson #legalcareer #legalprofession

A Review: The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett I had the pleasure of reading The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett on my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru, and despite being utterly exhausted, I couldn’t put it down. The book is truly a masterpiece for those who enjoy fast-paced and engaging reads. Bartlett’s writing style is absolutely brilliant. From the very beginning, he honored everything he promised about the book. He structured it into five corbellis, keeping it concise and free from unnecessary complications. When there was a need for visuals, he included pictures—believing, as he said, that they “paint a thousand words.” His approach reflects his belief that stories are far more powerful than data, and the nuance and truth of life often lie somewhere in the middle of a story. The execution is flawless. Bartlett stays true to his principles, making this book a refreshing and fulfilling read. It’s a hefty book, spanning over 350 pages, yet within 20 minutes of reading, I was already at page 50. This wasn’t just a surface-level skim—I was fully immersed, flipping back and forth between paragraphs, making connections, and referencing earlier sections to grasp the depth of his narrative. Even in my tired state, I was completely captivated by the book’s flow and insights. Bartlett has created something that isn’t just a book—it’s an experience. I can’t recommend it enough, especially for readers who value dynamic storytelling combined with actionable wisdom. Well done, Steven Bartlett! — Kartini Karim

#ASKRNR: 💼 Why did Keraton Yogyakarta sue PT. KAI for only Rp1,000? This amount is not just a number, but a profound philosophical symbol. In Javanese, "sewu," which means a thousand, is derived from the phrase "nuwun sewu," meaning "excuse me." This lawsuit emphasizes the importance of administrative order while preserving cultural values. 🔍 Do you have legal issues related to land ownership? 💬 Consult with RNR Law Firm, your trusted legal partner since 2022. 🌐 https://lnkd.in/e8XDU4t2! #rnrlawfirm #propertylaw #legalconsultation #cultureandlaw #yogyakarta

Just wanted to share a fun fact: the longest word in Bahasa Indonesia is "ketidakbertanggungjawaban," which means "irresponsibility." It’s 22 letters long and showcases how Indonesian builds meaning by combining prefixes, root words and suffixes! For example, you might say: "Tindakan mereka menunjukkan ketidakbertanggungjawaban terhadap lingkungan" (Their actions show irresponsibility towards the environment). This word is often used in discussions about accountability, especially in legal, environmental, or social contexts.
