Will yesterday's budget damage young people's employment prospects in 2025? For many recruitment businesses, the NI increases yesterday will amount to the cost of a full-time junior hire's salary next year. Many believe that these increases will be passed onto employees in the form of stagnant wages and higher living costs. But what about the people who haven't yet broken into their industry of choice? Minimum wage increases make the cost of an inexperienced hire even more risky on paper. Sales and recruitment are industries with long hours, higher churn, and a challenging onboarding process. It's hard to imagine there won't be a trickle-down effect that impacts young people most. BUT it's essential that the industry maintains a strong inflow of young talent. What are your thoughts?
